Highlights
- More apps to choose per use case: Nextcloud for files, Forgejo for private Git, Emby for media and Passbolt for passwords now install as alternatives to the defaults. The use-case catalog shows which choices a release installs and which it only records.
- Add-ons that install next to a use case: a document archive (Paperless-ngx), browser office editing (Euro-Office), music streaming (Navidrome), audiobooks and podcasts (Audiobookshelf) and ESPHome for your own devices can be selected alongside the matching use case.
- Advanced mode for managed homes: change sets, per-stack drift detection and reconcile, coordinated rollback and restore drills now run through Terramate over OpenTofu, and Basement installs default to OpenTofu.
- Mail, your way: Roundcube webmail works with a mailbox you already have, and an optional own Stalwart mail server runs on a dedicated node with an outbound relay.
Added
- advanced: change sets materialize governed secret custody for added workloads (bootstrap parity)
- advanced: change sets orchestrated through Terramate over OpenTofu roots with stackkit.change-set-result/v1 (P1.4)
- advanced: coordinated rollback across Terramate stacks with stackkit.rollback-result/v1 (P1.6)
- advanced: native v2 restore drill with stackkit.restore-drill-report/v1 (P1.7)
- basement-kit: Standard default target opentofu after real-host end-to-end and adoption runs (P1.10)
- catalog: add-on workloads and installing settings (Euro-Office, Navidrome, Audiobookshelf, ESPHome, Paperless)
- catalog: complete use-case alternatives, add-ons and wizard settings
- catalog: install Forgejo, Emby, Passbolt and Nextcloud alternatives
- compat: collect source-built candidate Depot runs bound to their StackKits source
- drift: Advanced per-stack drift detect/reconcile with stackkit.drift-report/v1 subjects (P1.5)
- executor: bootstrap and configuration parity across compose, OpenTofu, Terramate and change sets
- executor: OpenTofu roots for workload, edge and federation stacks (P1.1 follow-up W)
- fleet: Modern Cloud edge joins as a member node (M1)
- fleet: Modern member-local apply and verify with a Home-certified member evidence key (M2)
- host: plan and apply OS updates and schedule reboots on a node
- lifecycle: seal executor-state checkpoints for OpenTofu and Terramate installs (P1 follow-up C)
- mail-server: dedicated mail node, fixed IPv4 check and outbound relay
- mail-server: own Stalwart mail server as a separate Mail workload
- mail: client-first Roundcube webmail with owner mailbox setup and device profiles
- matrix: per-cell evidence citations and a citable Advanced gate cell
- release: publish the Advanced operations catalog (stackkit.advanced-operations/v1) and command-result contracts for Techstack (P1.8)
- renderer: Compose payload in OpenTofu for every Compose artifact with byte-identical payload test (P1.2)
- terramate: stacks for every kit core, workload and Modern site with stackkit.terramate-stack-graph/v1 (P1.3)
Fixed
- advanced: admission resolves the baseline from the stable inventory projection (change sets, reconcile, rollback, drill)
- advanced: change-set apply, reconcile and rollback generate from the approved stable inventory
- advanced: change-set apply, reconcile and rollback open an admitted application lifecycle stage
- advanced: checkpoints include workload volumes; rollback leaves consistent Apply evidence
- advanced: reconcile re-converges drifted stacks; rollback joins with one-use authority; drill authority after rollback
- advanced: reconcile restores drifted governed runtime files before the checkpoint
- advanced: reconcile restores the custody-derived runtime bytes and never regenerates secrets
- advanced: same-release Advanced mutations use the running executable as release authority on managed hosts
- backup: accept Compose-recreated Kopia runtime; check stop signals before quiescing
- catalog: Cloud standalone OpenTofu renderer contract matches the registry
- catalog: delivery rows state the default alternative's claim
- checkpoint: the rollback checkpoint accepts long-form Compose bind mounts
- checkpoint: the rollback checkpoint seals from the stable inventory projection
- cloud-kit: drift carries the owner binding; change-set checkpoint uses the Cloud backup authority
- commands: project the restore drill to MCP and update the core health test
- deps: update dependency dockerode to ^4.0.12
- deps: update dependency webmcp-types to v0.1.9
- deps: update internal products
- deps: update module filippo.io/age to v1.3.2
- deps: update tailwindcss monorepo to ^4.3.3
- federation: accept compiler targetNodes in binding adoption; record first real Modern run
- install: install the packaged OpenTofu provider mirror; P1.10 basement-kit runs blocked on verify
- release: export the OpenTofu provider hook the public publisher runs
- release: keep a prepared release publishable after an unrelated merge
- release: keep the private ADR-0044 link out of the public export
- renderer: wrapper payload changes converge with up only; down only on destroy (P1.2 follow-up)
- restore: Cloud Kit restore drill and activation use the kit's own backup source
- restore: start the Basement core from Apply's runtime directory
- tests: restore the deterministic gate (Basement Lite generate, delivery compatibility, hermetic site addresses)
- upgrade: shadow inspection resolves the plan's Inventory; rollback tolerates re-attested free space
- verify: public verify accepts Basement and Cloud cores on OpenTofu and Terramate targets
Changed
- advanced: change-set admission resolves and renders sequentially within a single-generate memory budget
