Highlights

This release prepares StackKits for neutral golden images and brings together the maintenance improvements from the 0.49 release line.

  • Prepare before registration: stackkit image plan, prepare and verify cache the exact published toolchain and immutable core container images without creating an Owner or starting applications.
  • Individual identity on first boot: stackkit init --preinstalled-manifest verifies the cache before establishing new Owner keys, runtime custody and workload secrets for each installation.
  • Ubuntu 26.04 by default: the image profiles retain Ubuntu 24.04 compatibility and include the packaged OpenTofu provider mirror and Terramate for managed deployments.
  • Consistent public catalogs: website and public-release projection verify the new image-profile document alongside the existing authority bundle.

The initial profiles cover Cloud and Basement core installations. Techstack remains responsible for VM construction, OS identity cleanup, per-clone Guard enrollment and provider image publication. Provider clone qualification is still pending; the cache does not promise an offline installation.

Added

  • applications: adopt existing Home Assistant without replacing native state
  • host: host security verify and repair, enforced home baseline and hardened OTel collector
  • images: prepare neutral caches for per-instance initialization
  • monitoring: bind the managed collector to the loopback Guard sink
  • profiles: bind Immich Lite and low measurements; enforce the provenance gate (C1)
  • stackkits: default new Ubuntu targets to 26.04 LTS

Fixed

  • backup: reject mismatched configured S3 targets
  • backup: report failed saved runs through status
  • ci: resolve the Go toolchain from go.mod instead of a stale pin
  • container: stamp release identity in both binaries
  • deps: update internal products
  • guard: verify canonical Guard during managed preparation
  • installer: explain standalone removal scope and approval
  • release: verify neutral image profiles in public projection
