The first release of Rungar. It keeps GitHub runner scale sets supplied with runners, each a fresh machine that takes one job and is then deleted, on hosts of your own and in the cloud.

New features

• Ephemeral runners for GitHub Actions. Each job gets its own machine, which is deleted once the job is done, so nothing is shared between two jobs. Workflows target a scale set by name: runs-on: rungar-c2-m4.
• Providers for Dicer, Proxmox VE, GCP and AWS. A scale set can span several providers and fills hosts of your own before a cloud. See Providers.
• One configuration file. rungar reads /etc/rungar/config.yaml and rejects unknown keys. rungar validate checks a file without starting anything. See the configuration reference.
• A command line for the fleet. rungar status, rungar runners, rungar scale-sets (including pause and resume), rungar providers, rungar events and rungar reconcile show what the daemon is doing and let you steer it.
• Restarts that keep runners running. Rungar labels the machines it creates. A daemon that restarts adopts the runners it left behind.
• Prometheus metrics. See Monitoring.

Installing

Install with the script, the rungar deb or rpm package from pkg.rungar.sh, the container image ghcr.io/konradasb/rungar:0.1.0, or the Helm chart oci://ghcr.io/konradasb/charts/rungar at version 0.1.0:
