Elecrow Crowpanel 7.0 hardware configuration in ESPHome Designer

I have been trying to build a screen for this display (which is marked in ESPHome Designer as experimental. The problem I'm having is that I get a black screen because the backlight is not being turned on. I found a thread on the Home Assistant Community board which offered sample code that works (https://community.home-assistant.io/t/esphome-and-elecrow-crowpanel-7-0/747698). I can build and install this code successfully using ESPHome Builder.

I've been attempting to compare and adjust the code generated by ESPHome Designer but not getting anywhere. Maybe another set of eyes would help. I'm attaching my build yaml file and the file from the discussion board. If anyone else has one of these display panels can you do some testing and report?

I was asking about the code block immediately after "captive portal:" which begins with "switch:" that seems to reference a template sensor. My board is stenciled v3.0.

I added that section to the on boot block but I still get a black screen. The only thing I've got that actually shows something on the screen is the code scrap I found in the discussion forums. Attaching both files.

Well that shows we have different boards. Its a shame that there are 3 different boards. Start slow by just replacing the lambda: |- block using Display lambda designs then move to lvgl screens.

Finally, some progress. This code boots the display, turns on the backlight and Home Assistant recognizes it and added it to my installation.

More progress. I have successfully built code from the designer to install a switch widget and control a smart plug.

Note: I had to go to the configure screen for the display device and check a box to allow it to perform HA actions.

It should also be noted that trying create code for Display Lambda mode the designer includes an LVGL code reference in the touchscreen: block that breaks the compile.
