• prefetch: keep the closures listed in the chart's prefetch value fetched on every node, so pods start without waiting for a fetch.
• maxClosureSize: refuse volumes whose closure's NARs add up to more than a limit, before fetching any of it.
• admissionPolicy.allowedNamespaces: allow the driver's volumes only in the listed namespaces, through a ValidatingAdmissionPolicy (Kubernetes 1.30 or later).
• updateStrategy.rollingUpdate.maxUnavailable: roll out the node plugin faster on large clusters.
• The node plugin reports each volume's size and inodes to kubelet, which lists them in its Summary API.
• helm install fails with a clear message when trustedPublicKeys is empty, instead of the plugin crash-looping.
• The runner image is built from deploy/base-image.nix, which takes extraCertificates for your own image.
