People

A new workspace for keeping in touch with the people who matter. Switch between Chores and People under the wordmark.

  • People and circles. Add people, group them into circles (add, rename, reorder, delete) and see how recently you were in touch at a glance. Each person opens to their details, dates and a timeline of every contact.
  • Quick-log. Record how you were in touch (call, text, email, in person and more), when, a note, everyone involved, and optionally who reached out. "They got in touch" is one tap on any row.
  • Reach out. Suggestions of who to contact next, based on the cadence you set, upcoming dates and who reached out last. Each card says why it is there, and "Not now" hides someone for 3, 7 or 14 days.
  • Coming up. Birthdays and other dates in the next 30 days.
  • Reciprocity. See "You N, them M" and runs of unanswered reach-outs. Settings > People can hide all of this if you prefer.
  • Reminders. A notification on each date, with an optional heads-up 1 to 14 days before, and one daily catch-up digest for people you want to be reminded about when overdue. Both times are adjustable in Settings > People.
  • Phone contacts (Android and iPhone). Optional and off by default. Import people with their birthdays, or link a person to a contact to call, text or email straight from lastGLANCE. Contacts are read only, and nothing leaves your phone unless you use sync.
  • Widgets. Reach out and Coming up widgets on Android and iPhone, plus a Lock Screen widget for the next date on iPhone.
  • Heatmap and Journal. In People mode the heatmap counts contacts per day and the Journal lists them, with the same ranges and CSV export as chores.
  • Household aware. Only the people visible to the current household member are shown and counted.
  • Sync. People syncs over WebDAV and GLANCEvault in its own file, with the same encryption as your chores. Older versions are not affected. You can keep People off a shared vault in Settings > People.

GLANCE integrations for People

  • dayGLANCE: optionally add a "Call Sam" style task when someone is overdue (completing it in dayGLANCE logs the contact here), and send today's birthdays and dates as all-day items.
  • lifeGLANCE: optionally add each logged contact with a person to your lifeGLANCE timeline.
  • Tasker and other apps: a new LOG_INTERACTION intent logs a contact by name or person ID.

Week start

  • New setting: Settings > Appearance > Week starts on lets you choose Automatic, Monday, Sunday or Saturday. It applies to every heatmap and calendar in the app and to the heatmap widgets.
  • Automatic is smarter: on Android and iPhone it now follows your phone's region and first-day-of-week setting, even when lastGLANCE runs in a language from another region (for example English in Czechia). (#362)
  • Widgets follow it: the Android and iPhone heatmap widgets no longer always start on Sunday. They now match the app.
