People syncs through Direct Access
People now travels through your Direct Access folder alongside your chores, so a device that syncs only through a folder (Syncthing, Nextcloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, FolderSync) shares its People too. They sync in a second file next to the chore file, lastglance-people.json, which older versions never touch. Nothing to set up: it uses the folder, the on/off switch and the encryption choice you already have.
Sync
- Less work when nothing has changed. WebDAV asks the server whether the file changed before downloading it, and Direct Access skips a check when neither the file nor your data has moved. Both still run a full check at least every 10 minutes. This saves battery and data on every quiet poll.
- A clear message when an upload is too large. If your sync server (or a proxy in front of it) refuses an upload for its size, Cloud Sync now says so, in every language, instead of reporting a network error. Uploads pause for 30 minutes before trying again; downloads carry on.
- Fixed: a network hiccup while checking your GLANCEvault passphrase no longer tells you the server needs to be updated.
- Lighter auto-backups. Old backups are now chosen for cleanup from the backup list alone, without loading every saved copy.
- Updated
@glance-apps/syncto 2.3.0.
Other
- The privacy policy link in Help and on the unlock screen now opens lastGLANCE's own policy, which covers phone contacts, People and sync.
- The README now covers People, with new screenshots.
