1.0.2

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Oct 10:05

Insert template now finds Markdown templates recursively, including templates in nested folders such as bases, dataview, and latex math.

  • Added Template folder in plugin settings. Set it to your template directory to include every Markdown template below it.
  • When Template folder is blank, discovery uses the default template's folder (except the vault root).
  • Default templates and templates referenced by folder rules remain available, with duplicate paths shown only once.
  • Templates in the discovered folder are protected from automatic template application; non-Markdown files are excluded.
  • Fixed automatic template application for newly opened notes whose creator does not emit the normal vault creation event.

Validation: all 25 tests pass, including recursive discovery regression tests; TypeScript checks and the production build pass. Supports Obsidian 1.5.7 and later on desktop and mobile.

Fixed

  • Persist the complete Markdown file path selected from settings suggestions instead of retaining the partial search query.
  • Apply the same suggestion-selection fix to folder template configuration.

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Sep 01:31

Initial stable release of Frontmatter Templater.

Highlights:

  • Store folder template assignments in canonical same-name folder notes using the folder-template property.
  • Resolve the closest folder rule, inherit parent rules, and fall back to a configurable default template.
  • Expand {{title}}, {{folder}}, and core-style formatted date and time variables.
  • Cache folder rules and bound picker results for responsive use in large vaults.
  • Add a settings index with safe add, edit, open, remove, and display-order controls.
  • Preserve non-empty notes and defer automatic processing until Obsidian metadata is ready.

Requires Obsidian 1.5.7 or later.
