Localix v0.2.0
Manage PHP versions, PHP extensions, and phpMyAdmin from inside Localix, with a simpler five-page layout.
New
- PHP page: install, update, and switch PHP 8.2–8.5 and phpMyAdmin from inside the app. Files come from the official PHP and phpMyAdmin sites and are verified with SHA-256 before use.
- Switch PHP from the dashboard or the tray menu. Apache restarts automatically, and the previous version is restored if the new one fails to start.
- PHP extensions and settings with checkboxes: memory limit, upload size, execution time, timezone, error display, OPcache, plus custom php.ini lines. Changes are tested before they are applied.
- PHP in the terminal (optional): add the active PHP and Composer to the Windows PATH, so
php artisanandcomposeruse the same PHP version and settings as Localix. Existing PATH entries are kept. - Trusted HTTPS for project domains (optional): turn on HTTPS next to the virtual host suffix and open projects at
https://project.locxwithout the "Not secure" label. Localix creates a certificate authority unique to your computer, and the installer adds it to Windows so Chrome, Edge, and Firefox trust it right away. The authority can only sign your Localix domains, localhost, and127.0.0.1, and the uninstaller removes it. - Simpler navigation: Dashboard, Projects, PHP, Logs, Settings. Virtual hosts and the Laravel creator now live in Projects.
Improvements
- Updating Localix keeps your projects (
www), databases (data), and settings (config), including when updating from 0.1.0. - phpMyAdmin is served directly from its runtime folder, keeps your login across updates, and only opens on
localhost/127.0.0.1. - Start, stop, and restart each service from the dashboard; errors appear under the service that failed.
- Check Ports now detects ports used by other applications.
- A reminder to restart Apache appears when projects change.
Fixes
- New Laravel projects returned HTTP 500 because the SQLite extensions were not enabled.
- The Apache access log only contained the word
common. - Composer output in the Laravel creator now follows the latest line.
- Status badges were hard to read in the light theme.
Notes
- HTTPS is off by default and uses port 443 (change it in Settings). The portable build cannot install the certificate during setup, so use Percayai sertifikat on the Projects page once (one Windows admin prompt). Changing the domain suffix creates a new authority that must be trusted again.
- After updating from 0.1.0, phpMyAdmin asks you to log in once.
- Bundled versions: Apache 2.4.67, PHP 8.4.22 (8.4.26 is available from the PHP page), MySQL 9.6.0, phpMyAdmin 5.2.3, Composer 2.9.8.
Update 2026-10-14
The installer and portable files were rebuilt to add trusted HTTPS for project domains. If you installed 0.2.0 before October 14, run the new installer over it; projects, databases, and settings are kept.
