@kuscholar kuscholar released this 27 Oct 04:20

iDeck v0.1.3-alpha.3 · Build 67

iDeck brings the Steam Big Picture experience to iOS. Genuine Windows Steam
runs locally through Madeira/Wine/FEX and Metal. This does not install Linux
SteamOS and is not PC streaming.

What's new since Build 56

  • Repair Steam inside iDeck. The launcher now identifies missing/incompatible
client/browser files and provides Repair Steam files. Existing account data,
games and saves are preserved; replaced public program files are backed up.
Reopen iDeck after repair. A compatible user-supplied client is required when
no bundled repair source exists: iDeck/Steam32OfficialRepair in Files.
  • 64-bit game installation detection. Wine now exposes the existing AMD64
capability correctly to the legacy Steam client. The user confirmed Ratatan
could download/install. This does not make every 64-bit game compatible.
  • Ratatan startup/display work. Preserve emulator allocation headroom and
Steamworks image space; restore fullscreen preferences with an original-value
backup; enable the existing WGI controller route for isolated Steam sessions.
Earlier device evidence reached the game menu. Universal fullscreen, virtual
controller gameplay and Bluetooth success are not claimed.
  • Re-signed JIT callback repair. Use URL schemes actually declared by the
installed app instead of guessing from its Bundle ID. Keep the iDeck shell
enabled for custom IDs. Correct the bundled shortcut's text output contract.
  • Native Steam CM recovery. Clean up failed connections, preserve safe numeric
transport errors and try up to three distinct existing CM endpoints for
transient failures. Certificate checks stay enabled. This is not a verified
fix for every LeiShen/Karing TLS issue, nor a Steam Cloud/offline-license bypass.

Upgrade / install

Download iDeck-0.1.3-alpha.3-build67.ipa, verify SHA256SUMS, and re-sign
with your own Apple development identity and matching main/helper profiles.
Keep the JIT helper and debugging permission. The IPA has certificate-free ad-hoc
signatures; it is not directly installable without your signature.

If you use Madeira JIT in Shortcuts, re-import it from this version's JIT setup
and replace the old shortcut with the same name.
Updating iDeck does not replace
an already imported workflow. iOS26 users should use the manual LocalDevVPN flow.
Signing does not itself enable JIT.

Back up saves first. Upgrade in place with the same identifiers if preserving
local data; do not uninstall to fix a Steam prerequisite failure. Steam/CEF,
Microsoft redistributables, games, credentials, pairing data and personal signing
profiles are not bundled. Supply a legitimate compatible legacy Windows Steam
client and approve Valve login/Steam Guard yourself.

Actual checks and limits

  • Full iOS Build67, ten focused host regression scripts and six release-tool
tests passed. Signed shortcut payload/signature/source equality checked.
  • 103-input portable relink executed; packaged main/JIT/converter section hashes
match build products. Nested ad-hoc signatures and 1245-file scoped audit pass.
  • Build67 was development-signed, installed in place and launched on Kusch;
the user confirmed in-app Steam repair restored use.
    The phone's previous
Steam executable was AMD64 while the compatible repair source was i386.
The logout-crash causal chain is still unproven.
  • The public ad-hoc IPA has no separate other-account sideloader/JIT acceptance
test. No affected iOS27.2 accelerator TLS, iPad, exhaustive controller/game
regression or full clean-machine runtime rebuild success is claimed.

This remains a developer alpha with limited game compatibility. Companion
assets supply exact application/pinned component sources, LGPL patches/build
recipes, 103 relink inputs, licenses, engineering audit and per-file inventory.
Toolchains/Apple SDK and signing permissions are obtained separately.

iDeck — six checks before takeoff

iDeck brings the SteamOS experience to iOS. This developer alpha runs genuine
Windows Steam Big Picture locally through Madeira/Wine/FEX and Metal. It does
not install Linux SteamOS or include Valve's client or games.

New in v0.1.3-alpha.2 · Build 56

  • A step-by-step launcher: runtime → Steam/CEF → development signing → JIT setup → device connection → JIT for this session.
  • One “Check all prerequisites” button: checkmarks, missing-condition actions and automatic rechecks after returning to iDeck/JIT setup. Manual launch waits for all six checks.
  • More useful setup checks: a complete client may use either supported isolated prefix directory; incomplete clients cannot be combined to appear ready. Preparation preserves existing data.
  • English and Chinese README: IPA signing/sideloading, Steam prerequisites and a staged testing guide.

Downloads and installation

Download iDeck-0.1.3-alpha.2-build56.ipa and verify it with SHA256SUMS.
The package has certificate-free ad-hoc signatures. Re-sign it with your own
Apple development identity/profiles
, keeping the JIT helper extension and
debugging permission. Signing does not enable JIT.

Detailed signing guide

Companion assets include the exact application source snapshot, pinned
component/historical sources and vendored Rust dependencies, 103 Build 56
relink inputs
, full component licenses, engineering audit and per-file IPA
inventory. Source/relink instructions are included in those archives.

What was actually checked

  • Full iOS Build 56 compilation; launcher-policy, Steam launch/pseudo-process and keyboard host checks; six release-tool unit tests.
  • Final linked prerequisite-check strings; portable 103-input relink executed successfully.
  • Packaged main/JIT/converter Mach-O sections match build/input copies; all 20 native static libraries match the prior reviewed inputs.
  • Nested ad-hoc signatures, 1,245-file scoped IPA audit and complete license/credit inclusion.
  • Earlier Build 55 was installed and launched on Kusch; the checklist was visually observed at 6/6 ready. A later user foreground switch interrupted the attempted check-button tap, so that tap was not validated.

Build 56 has no fresh phone-installation, JIT or gameplay validation. The
Build 55 observation is not a claim of those results for this IPA. No
other-account Sideloadly/AltStore, iPad, Bluetooth or full clean-machine runtime
rebuild success is claimed.

Before testing

Requires iOS 26+, development signing and Madeira's authorized pairing/JIT
workflow. No jailbreak. Steam setup is still for technical testers: supply a
legitimate complete compatible legacy Windows Steam/CEF client yourself. The
clean client acquisition/setup flow remains unfinished. Sign in and approve
Steam Guard yourself; account caches are not supplied.

Game support is limited; startup, login transitions and games can hang or fail.
6/6 readiness is not proof a game will work. Back up saves before upgrades and
avoid deleting the app if you need to preserve its local data. Please report
device/OS/build, the first failing stage and redacted diagnostics.
