• Docker Go builds switched to pre-built binaries to fix a 6 hour CI timeout
• CI race detector merged in; the golangci-lint job (incompatible with Go 1.25 at the time) and the paid Codecov step were both removed in favor of a printed coverage summary
• Unit tests, benchmarks, a Makefile, and lint config added
• README rewritten with banner, screenshot, and full feature/API docs; broken Docker Hub pulls badge replaced with a static ghcr.io badge
