You'll need macOS 14 or later and an Apple Silicon Mac. The app includes its media tools. There is no Intel build in this release. Both the app and DMG are signed with Raman Singh's Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Getting started

1. Open the DMG and drag MVD into Applications.
2. Open MVD, paste a supported URL, and click Review Link.
3. Pick the available quality, format, audio options, and folder. Click Download.
4. Want browser buttons? Use Connect Chrome in the app, then follow the steps to load the unpacked companion at chrome://extensions.

The companion isn't listed in the Chrome Web Store yet. Installing it and allowing website access are explicit steps in Chrome. If you used an older development copy, remove or disable that copy, load the new one, and refresh video pages.

The installer checks the published hash, Apple developer identity, and Gatekeeper notarization. It won't overwrite an existing app without --replace, stop running downloads, or use sudo. Installer options and update steps.

Website support depends on the resolver and the source exposed by the player. DRM-protected video and general WebRTC capture are unsupported. This release does not promise that every page is downloadable.

The screenshots use an isolated demo library and mock browser connection. They don't show personal download history.

Source and rights

MVD is source available with reserved rights, copyright 2026 Ramanpal Singh. You can inspect the code, build it unchanged, and use official releases for personal or internal use. Modification, redistribution, rebranding, and resale require permission. Read the MVD license.

Third-party software keeps its own licenses. The notice index explains the bundled components and recorded notice limitations. Exact media-tool sources are included in the DMG and in the separate MVD-media-sources-9.0.2-arm64.tar.gz asset. MVD-Mutagen-1.48.1-source.zip contains that GPL component's original source distribution and build inputs. MVD's reserved-rights terms do not restrict those components' licenses.
