Pk hex marks hg/ss egg pokeball as invalid when traded

Is this normal or a bug when this happens when reading a save file?

Probably previously modified and the value was cleared. HGSS eggs set both the Ball and extended-ball (0x86) value to 04 matching Poké Ball, and there is no mechanic to clear that value. If the value is missing, it is flagged by the program.

Well, save is from platinum, and the chikorita is from hg I believe, got it from a trade with another player online. Also when I click on the invalid symbol for more info it sets the pokemon as valid instead. Any info on that?(not home atm and forgot to upload pk4 file to my phone)

Well according to the OT, the egg was traded from hg, then traded to a platinum game and hatched there, could anything of that mess with the validity check for the pokeball?
