CSV Utility 1.4.1
CSV Utility 1.4.1
This hotfix makes spreadsheet dragging safer and adds control over the default
size of newly opened grids.
- Fixes a crash when moving a multi-cell selection that crossed from populated
rows into the sheet's empty displayed rows. - Applies the same boundary-safe snapshot handling to fill-handle drags.
- Adds Default amount of columns and Default amount of rows controls to
Grid Editor settings. - Keeps the standard defaults at 26 columns (A–Z) and 100 rows, while allowing
new sheets to use a custom visible minimum without allocating empty cells.
CSV Utility 1.4.0
CSV Utility 1.4.0
This release adds familiar spreadsheet drag interactions and a focused
side-by-side workspace for working across two CSV files at once.
- Moves a selected cell or multi-cell range by dragging its outer border, with
a hand cursor, live destination outline, preserved formatting, and undo. - Adds a round fill handle at the selection corner for quickly repeating cell
values and styles across a larger range. - Opens a second sheet beside the current one from the tab's themed
Show in Split Screen context-menu command, with an adjustable divider and
a maximum of two visible sheets. - Keeps the complete Find, Sort, Diff, Filter, and Functions tool strip visible
in both split panes and routes each action to the pane that invoked it. - Keeps split-pane toolbars aligned when a full-width sheet is resized and
clearly marks both visible tabs while preserving the active pane state.
CSV Utility 1.3.0
CSV Utility 1.3.0
This release adds spreadsheet-style Functions, faster navigation, and clearer
import and export control while preserving CSV Utility's responsiveness on
multi-gigabyte files.
- Adds an optional experimental Functions menu with
SUM,AVERAGE,COUNT,
MAX, andMIN, stored as portable A1-style formulas such as
=SUM(F8:H8). - Evaluates large file-backed formulas in the background with constant-memory
aggregation and revision-aware caching, so selections and scrolling remain
responsive while a result is calculated. - Validates formulas as they are typed, using green for valid references and
red for malformed or out-of-range expressions. - Makes the active-cell reference clickable, opening a compact themed Go To
panel for jumping directly to a cell, row, or column. - Expands the row-number gutter automatically for very large sheets so
eight-digit row labels and cell references remain legible. - Reworks Settings into one continuous, searchable page whose sidebar links
directly to General, Appearance, Grid Editor, Import & Export, Experimental,
and Files & Performance sections. - Adds persistent import defaults for delimiter and text encoding, plus export
defaults for format, encoding, and line endings. - Refines themed menus, formula controls, the select-all corner, and toolbar
icon alignment throughout the sheet.
CSV Utility 1.2.0
CSV Utility 1.2.0
This release brings everyday column editing to the sheet, keeping every
operation undoable, cancellable, and memory-bounded on multi-gigabyte files.
- Adds a complete set of column operations — Rename, Duplicate, Add Left,
Add Right, Move Left, Move Right, Split, Combine Selected Columns, and
Delete — from the column header's context menu and from Edit ▸ Column. - Splits one column into as many columns as its widest value needs, and folds
a selected span back into a single column under a header you choose, both
with progress, cancellation, and safeguards for very large columns. - Moves and deletes columns through the sheet's identity mapping, so
rearranging a file-backed CSV stays instant and undo never has to hold an
entire column in memory. - Keeps a multi-column selection alive when the header is right-clicked inside
it, and disables the commands a filtered or read-only sheet cannot perform
rather than letting them quietly do nothing. - Draws the Rename, Split, and Combine dialogs in the app's own panel style,
with the document accent on their confirm buttons and focused fields. - Aligns every item in the column header menu on a single leading edge.
CSV Utility 1.1.0
CSV Utility 1.1.0
This release adds powerful open-sheet workflows while keeping multi-gigabyte
CSV files responsive and memory-bounded.
- Adds a scalable Data Quality Check for malformed rows, mismatched column
counts, unbalanced quotes, blank headers, and duplicate headers, with direct
navigation between detected issues. - Adds Transform Selected Cells with Replace, Prefix, Suffix, Fill Blanks,
Title Case, Add, Multiply, and Round operations, including progress,
cancellation, undo, and safeguards for very large selections. - Makes column filtering safer on high-cardinality data by bounding unique
values, fixing a cross-device crash, and keeping expanded sort options clear
of the filter list and footer. - Moves file tabs to the bottom and places the compact editor tools alongside
the active-cell field for a cleaner, sheet-focused workspace. - Refines the Start screen with a centred stacked layout, four concise recent
files, reliable filename truncation, and consistent hover-only remove icons. - Corrects selection statistics for empty grid areas and improves icon hover
state reliability when windows change focus.
