PaintFE v1.4.8
PaintFE v1.4.8
This update focuses on the Tools panel, History and preferences, with a few
keyboard and paste improvements as well.
Fixes
- History icons now follow the action that made the undo entry. Switching tools
or using translated labels no longer changes which icon belongs to an action.
This also covers Color Range, Invert Selection and Deselect. Applying Color
Range with unchanged controls also records the selection for Undo. - Tools now resizes around its contents instead of leaving large empty areas.
Narrow headers stay aligned, colour controls keep their own spacing and
divider, and Shapes uses a wide or compact button depending on the space. - Unsaved-change dialogs support Tab, Shift+Tab and arrow keys. Enter uses the
focused choice, and the dialogs can be dragged by their heading. - Recent Files gives longer paths more room, up to 700 pixels or half the app
width. Document-only actions are disabled when no image is open. - Preferences saves changes automatically and combines repeated writes. Failed
saves are shown, and invalid AI paths keep the previous valid configuration. - Fast paste drags no longer lose their starting position or reach the brush
underneath.
New options
- Choose which tools appear in Tools, with Show all to restore them. Shortcuts
still work for hidden tools. - Turn Tools resize animation on or off. It follows the existing motion settings.
- Choose whether to paste at the copied position and keep pasted content in view.
Content outside the canvas appears faded while editing the paste and is still
clipped when committed. - Enable Ctrl+Insert, Shift+Insert and Shift+Delete clipboard shortcuts.
- Enable Enter-to-deselect if preferred. It is off by default.
- Change the docked tool-options separator colour and opacity, or follow the theme.
- Icon packs can provide tool_shapes_small_dark.png and tool_shapes_small_light.png
for compact Shapes buttons, with a built-in fallback.
