- Adds automatic MKVToolNix detection and a dedicated subtitle workflow for inspecting and extracting embedded MKV subtitle tracks.
- Protects every detected DVD subtitle track during ripping and validates that processed outputs retain them.
- Extracts text, VobSub, PGS, ASS, SSA, WebVTT, USF, and DVB subtitles through verified local staging without changing the source MKV.
- Adds a confirmed Remove & Delete action for unwanted temporary DVD extras.
- Preserves an existing correctly named Original DVD file when only a missing Enhanced or 1080p version needs to be created.
- Detects destination collisions before starting an expensive Enhanced or 1080p encode.
Requirements
MKVToolNix is optional and is needed only for inspecting or extracting embedded subtitles. RipFoundry continues to use MakeMKV for DVD scanning and ripping, FFmpeg/FFprobe for media processing and validation, and HandBrakeCLI for Enhanced outputs.
Download the portable ZIP, extract the complete folder, and keep RipFoundry.exe beside its _internal folder. SHA-256 hashes are included in SHA256SUMS-v1.4.0.txt.
