Qard 0.5.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Oct 14:35

Qard 0.5.2 improves the display of running agents and background tasks.

  • Running tasks: a clearer popover with separate task names, course or test details, agent labels, elapsed time, and Cancel controls. Long names and model labels wrap without being cut off.
  • Waiting screens: consistent panels for course mapping, test creation, marking, and lesson preparation. Status, timing, and controls stay aligned on narrow screens; the tutor hint stays inside the lesson waiting panel.
  • Navigation: dismiss the running-task list with Escape or a click outside it. Escape returns keyboard focus to the running indicator.

Your notes, settings, review history, saved sessions, and exam plans are preserved. No data migration is required. All 341 automated tests and the source, stylesheet, build, and release checks pass.

Qard 0.5.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Oct 08:19

Qard 0.5.1 polishes the study workspace and reorganizes the plugin internals.

  • Deck library: clearer navigation, subject-aware deck badges, and a simpler heading.
  • Plans: a dedicated library tab, a cleaner exam overview, and a three-step setup for the exam, study material, and routine.
  • Exam calendar: browse exams and planned revision by month, then select a day to see its agenda.
  • Answer feedback: consistent answer, annotation, mark-scheme, and action layouts across practice tests and guided learning, with improved spacing on smaller screens.
  • Maintenance: focused modules, shared helpers, consistent formatting, stronger source checks, and contributor documentation. The internal refactor preserves the polished interface and existing behavior.

Your notes, settings, study history, saved sessions, and exam plans are preserved. No data migration is required. All 338 automated tests and the source, stylesheet, build, and release checks pass.

Qard 0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 05 Oct 12:24

Qard 0.5.0 adds exam planning and saved flashcard sessions.

  • Exam plans: set an exam date, study weekdays and a daily review target for selected decks or topics. Qard spreads first-pass coverage across the remaining days, adds due reviews within your target, and warns when the workload exceeds available time. Open practice-test creation with your exam material already in the prompt.
  • Resume studying: normal and cram sessions automatically preserve their card order and next position, including after restarting Obsidian. Resume from the deck library, the relevant deck, or the exam plan. Completed ratings and position updates save together.
  • Clearer layouts: exam setup has spaced sections, responsive fields and grouped study days. Saved sessions show the deck name, progress, a Resume button and a separate discard control.
  • Workspace focus: use F to toggle focus across the workspace and Escape to leave it.

Exam coverage counts cards reviewed since the plan began; it is not an exam-score prediction. Existing FSRS due dates remain unchanged. Cram sessions assign stable card IDs when needed for reliable resuming, without recording ratings or changing schedules.

Your existing notes, settings and review history are preserved.

@github-actions github-actions released this 05 Oct 08:03

Qard 0.4.2 removes the Generate with AI button from the Decks home page.

AI flashcard generation remains available inside a deck and on the New card page. Running and completed drafts remain accessible from their home-page rows.

Qard 0.4.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 17:49

Qard 0.4.1 removes the Source updates button from the workspace header.

Source changes remain accessible through the affected-card row on Decks and the Qard: Review source updates command.

Qard 0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 14:51

Qard 0.4.0 adds source updates for generated flashcards and a fast cram mode.

  • Source updates: generated flashcards, including cards made from tests and lessons, retain links to the notes they were based on. When those notes change, review the affected passages beside the card and ask your Writer connection for an editable update. Changes are never applied automatically.
  • Keep your history: wording edits preserve the card's identity, history and schedule. If the correct answer changes, flag it for a fresh normal review without erasing previous reviews. Interrupted updates can be finished after a reload.
  • Existing cards: open a card preview and choose Link a source note to start tracking an older or handwritten card. Source links follow note and folder renames while Qard is enabled; missing sources are flagged. Back up Qard/Source links.json with your notes and keep it at its original path.
  • Cram mode: choose Normal session or Cram mode on the Study screen. In cram mode, Space reveals the answer and Space again advances. Touch controls provide the same flow. No difficulty ratings, review-history entries or schedule changes are made; Cram again repeats the selected cards.

Historical tests and lesson transcripts remain records of their original attempts. Source updates edit their derived flashcards, including the cards' answers and explanations.

Requires Obsidian 1.7.2 or newer. Update under Settings → Community plugins → Check for updates, then reload Qard after any running AI jobs finish. To update manually, replace main.js, manifest.json and styles.css in your vault's .obsidian/plugins/qard/ folder. Keep data.json to preserve settings and review history.

Qard 0.3.9

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Oct 14:48

Qard 0.3.9 removes automatic clipboard access, fixes the community review’s CSS warnings, and narrows note discovery. It also corrects the dependency lock file so the release builds from a clean installation.

  • No clipboard access: Select answer reveals and selects the answer’s Markdown. Copy it with your device’s usual Copy action or Ctrl+C / Cmd+C; Qard never reads or writes the system clipboard.
  • Narrower discovery: card indexing, import discovery, course source expansion, source pickers and API note tools skip hidden Markdown files. The course picker derives folders from Markdown notes instead of listing every loaded file, including attachments. API tools also exclude the configured tests folder.
  • CSS fixes: review annotations use compatible borders, feedback markers use CSS variables instead of !important, and map panels and rating buttons use explicit state classes instead of :has().
  • Release checks: the official Obsidian CSS rules run with zero warnings against the review’s Electron 30 baseline on every release. Builds are also checked for clipboard API references.

Vault enumeration remains necessary to discover flashcards and choose notes across the vault. It is a disclosed capability recommendation, not a failing lint check. See review notes for details.

Requires Obsidian 1.7.2 or newer. Update under Settings → Community plugins → Check for updates, then reload Qard after any running AI jobs finish. To update manually, replace main.js, manifest.json and styles.css in your vault’s .obsidian/plugins/qard/ folder. Keep data.json to preserve settings and review history.

Qard 0.3.7

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Oct 14:18

Qard 0.3.7 adds a prominent Buy Me a Coffee button at the top of the README, making it easier to support the project.

This is a documentation and release metadata update. Plugin behavior is unchanged from 0.3.6.

Requires Obsidian 1.7.2 or newer.

Qard 0.3.6

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Oct 14:20

Qard 0.3.6 fixes AI-generated flashcards being collapsed into one topic per batch. A single deck can now contain separate topics for the individual notes used to generate cards.

  • Separate AI topics: generated cards carry their own topic. By default, the AI uses one topic per source note; describe another grouping in your request if needed.
  • One topic per note: use this option on the review screen to assign topics from source-note names, including for unsaved drafts created by older versions. Cards without a source keep their existing topic.
  • Review and edit topics: see and edit each card’s topic before adding it. Enter a shared name in Topic for all cards to combine the batch under one topic.
  • Reliable saving: separate topics survive draft recovery and saving. Retrying after a save or indexing failure preserves card IDs and avoids duplicates. Deck and topic assignments are fixed once saving begins.

Already saved cards are not reorganized automatically. This update preserves existing cards, settings and study history.

Requires Obsidian 1.7.2 or newer. Update under Settings → Community plugins → Check for updates, then reload Qard after any running AI jobs finish. For a manual update, replace main.js, manifest.json and styles.css in your vault’s .obsidian/plugins/qard/ folder, keeping data.json.

Qard 0.3.5

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Oct 13:30

Qard 0.3.5 adds study statistics and adaptive FSRS scheduling.

  • Study statistics: open Statistics in the workspace header or run Qard: Show study statistics. Explore your yearly activity heatmap, current and longest streaks, recall rate, rating-based difficulty, upcoming reviews, and results by deck.
  • FSRS-6 scheduling: select FSRS under Settings → Qard → Study preferences → Review scheduler. It adapts intervals to your ratings and elapsed time, using ts-fsrs 5.4.2 with a default 90% target retention. Higher targets mean more frequent reviews. Personal parameter optimization is not included yet.
  • Memory estimates: with FSRS enabled, see predicted recall, median stability, a model difficulty distribution, and the number of cards below your retention target. Cards with incomplete or imported history are labelled as approximate estimates.
  • Review interval previews: reveal a flashcard to see the next review interval for Again, Hard, Good and Easy. Again means forgotten; Hard means recalled with effort.
  • Safe switching and complete history: existing vaults keep the simple scheduler until FSRS is selected. Switching preserves current due dates and review counts. Complete saved histories initialize the memory model; new timestamped review events are retained without the previous 10,000-event limit. Previously removed history cannot be recovered.
  • Flashcard format update: this release keeps standard question/answer Markdown cards and prompt-first AI generation. The experimental cloze and image occlusion formats from 0.3.4 have been removed; those experimental cards are not supported in 0.3.5.

Requires Obsidian 1.7.2 or newer. Update under Settings → Community plugins → Check for updates, then reload Qard after any running AI jobs finish. For a manual update, replace main.js, manifest.json and styles.css in your vault’s .obsidian/plugins/qard/ folder, keeping data.json to preserve your settings and study history.
