Fixes
Voice chat on Windows 10
- Free voice chat couldn't set up her ears on Windows 10: "Couldn't unpack her ears: tar.exe: Error opening archive: Can't initialize filter". Windows 10's built-in tar can't unpack the ears download, so Capri now unpacks it herself when that happens. Update, then start free voice chat again. Windows 11 was fine and works as before

Voice OFF
- You can now turn off her voice. Open Capri Mainframe, and under VOICE pick OFF. She types her replies and never talks out loud: no voice download, no ElevenLabs credits. Voice chat still works, and she types back. Pick FREE VOICE or ELEVENLABS to hear her again

Jobs
- On the free NORMAL brain, "open Notepad and type Hi" sometimes typed your whole sentence after "Hi", or typed it again and again. She now types only what the job asks
Voice chat
- Muting your mic now pauses ElevenLabs voice chat once she stops talking. She stops listening, won't keep asking if you're there, and uses no credits while you're muted. Unmute and just talk
- "Ctrl + Alt + V to talk" now shows under VOICE for everyone, free voice chat included. Click it, or "Ctrl + Alt + N mutes mic", to change the keys
Brain
- With HIGHER picked, the Mainframe says most NVIDIA models can't see your screen. Her first pick, nvidia/nemotron-3.5-super-vl-120b-a12b, can

What's new
Her own cursor
- Ask her to do something on your PC and her own pink pointer glides over and clicks. Your mouse stays where you left it; she only borrows it for the click
- With a Claude key she works from screenshots and checks what happened after each step
- She sends messages, joins and leaves calls, and presses shortcuts. Press Esc to stop her
- Say "check my screen" or "what game is this?" and she takes a screenshot and looks
Voice
- She talks with no API key: the installer now installs her local speech model. For a better sounding, faster voice, add an ElevenLabs key
- Under VOICE, pick FREE VOICE (free, runs on your PC) or ELEVENLABS (sounds amazing, uses your credits). Setup guide shows how to get a key
- Free voice chat: with FREE VOICE picked, you talk and she answers out loud with your picked brain
- She greets you on startup in her own voice
Brain
- Three tiers: NORMAL (free, runs on your PC), HIGHER (free NVIDIA key), MAX INTELLIGENCE (ChatGPT or Claude key)
- She remembers what you ask her to in me.md, and you can tell her what to call you in Settings
- Short on RAM or storage? She says so in plain words
- Watching your screen, she stops repeating the same comment

- She glitches in with her tendrils, red and black beams and soft sound effects
- She walks along your windows, teleports, dances to the song's beat and sits on the Mainframe
- Pet her by rubbing the cursor over her. Her size goes from Tiny to Giant

What's new
An improved harness
- In voice chat she does what you ask straight away, instead of only saying she will
- "Capri, open your website" opens her site, and "google ..." or "what's the weather tomorrow?" opens Google right away
- She hears her name even if voice chat writes it as "Kapri" or "Capree", and acts on what comes after it
- Ask for In Love With Myself and she plays the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 track
Brains
- With an NVIDIA key she starts on GLM 5.3 Flash. If it stops answering or is busy, she moves to the next NVIDIA model by herself, and starts on GLM again next time
- Claude, OpenAI and NVIDIA work in the first seconds after she starts, instead of failing with a secure channel error

- Give her a job with a few steps, like "open Comet and search for cats", and she moves your mouse and types to do it
- She asks before sending, posting, buying or deleting anything, and stops if you press Esc, move the mouse or switch windows
- Ask her something she can't know, like the weather, a score or a price, and she pulls it up on Google

- "Perch" is now "Ride cursor", since it puts her on your cursor. To sit her, drag her and let go near a window or the taskbar
- She lands on the taskbar when she starts and after Bring here, instead of floating above it
- She won't say she opened something when she didn't, and opens the app you name instead of guessing a website
- Voice errors tell you to make your ElevenLabs key with Restrict key turned off

- Ask her to open apps, games and websites, play a song or playlist on Spotify or YouTube, skip, pause, change the volume, or tell you what's playing
- She switches to, minimizes or closes your open apps and tabs
More brains
- Use a free NVIDIA key, or your ChatGPT, Claude or DeepSeek key, instead of running her brain on your PC
- The free NVIDIA brain answers again: she starts on a model that works and switches by herself if one stops
Moving her around
- Sit or hang anywhere: right-click her → Move → Sit here / Hang here, or hold Shift (sit) or Ctrl (hang) when you drop her
- Wander around: she hops between your open windows
- New Huge size, and she perches properly on windows at every size
Fixes
- Updates now download inside Capri and install with one click
- The installer no longer stops on "unrecognized Capri.exe"
- She comments on your games more, and says when your screen capture is black
- If a game crashes her brain, she moves it to your CPU instead of breaking
- A slow brain on your PC tells you in her bubble, and the Mainframe says you don't need a key
- Pause and resume say what Spotify is really doing, and she won't guess who someone on your screen is
- Clearer errors, and Help → Copy error details for the Discord

- Pick your mic in the Mainframe
- Ctrl + Alt + V starts and stops voice chat, and Ctrl + Alt + N mutes your mic while you chat
- She sits right in the corners of your screen
- She says choom and preem properly, uses less slang, and stops going on about your CPU
- Her pill stays out of your games: it only shows when your mouse is on her
- No built-in voice any more: design your own in ElevenLabs and paste its Voice ID. The setup guide shows how, and Get a key in the Mainframe takes you straight to ElevenLabs
Capri free voice test
Test build with her free voice. This isn't the main release.
- Install Capri-Setup-0.5.9-freevoice2.exe.
- Right-click Capri and open Capri Mainframe.
- Under VOICE, press Get free voice. It downloads her voice once (316 MB).
No ElevenLabs key needed. If you have a key saved, press Forget to hear the free voice.
capri-voice-1.zip is her voice. Capri downloads it for you.

- You can talk to her now: tap the pencil and type, and she answers in her own words
- The Capri Mainframe sets up her brain for you: it picks a free local AI model that fits your PC
- She talks out loud through ElevenLabs: paste your key and pick a voice in the Mainframe
- Voice chat: tap the wave and just talk, with a mic mute beside her pill. If you go quiet she checks in once, then waits until you talk again
- She sits on app windows, desktop icons and the bottom of your screen, and stands up where she is when the window goes
- She moves her mouth when she talks, and glitches when you toss her around
