Best Fit Interpolator v1

First public release of Best Fit Interpolator, a QGIS plugin for comparing spatial interpolation methods and selecting the most suitable approach for a dataset.

Main features

  • Multiple spatial interpolation methods.
  • Cross-validation and performance comparison.
  • Error metrics and graphical results.
  • Variogram analysis.
  • Framework-guided interpolation method selection.
  • Generation and visualization of interpolated raster maps.
  • Optional machine-learning dependencies are installed with user permission on first use
  • Validation reuses the data, predictors, and final parameters from the corresponding interpolation.

Installation

  1. Download bestfitinterpolator_v1.zip from the assets below.
  2. Open QGIS.
  3. Go to Plugins → Manage and Install Plugins → Install from ZIP.
  4. Select the downloaded ZIP file.
  5. Click Install Plugin.

Do not extract or rename the ZIP file before installing it.
