ballview v0.1.0
First release. A Windows desktop app for watching MLB play-by-play in real time.
Install
Download ballview_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe below and run it. No account, no API key, no
configuration — pick a club and it starts logging.
Windows may show a SmartScreen warning, because the installer is not code-signed:
More info → Run anyway. Or build it from source; the README has the steps.
What it does
- Watch a game — every pitch drawn from behind the plate with its tracked path, speed,
spin and movement; the view hands over to the field when the ball is put in play. - Replay any pitch — of any at-bat, with Baseball Savant's own video of it.
- Play-by-play and box score — every play expandable into its pitch sequence, and both
clubs' full batting and pitching lines. - Follow a club — its whole season, played and still to come, as a calendar or a
list; its news from mlb.com; and the plays worth watching. - Play of the day — the best clips from every game on the slate, ranked, or narrowed
to your club. - Players — leaderboards over a season, a date window or a last-N-games span; charts
comparing several players at once; and player of the day, week and month. - Save games offline — a self-contained snapshot that reopens with no network and
exports as a single file.
Notes
Data comes from MLB's own public endpoints. ballview is unofficial and unaffiliated with
Major League Baseball; clip availability and geo-restrictions are MLB's, not ballview's.
