v3.4.2
This release introduces highly flexible, dual-layer destructive command detection, significantly refactors root command parsing logic, and improves terminal UI consistency. It also resolves a specific keybinding issue for PowerShell users running on Linux.
Features
- Configurable Destructive Command Detection: Replaced hardcoded heuristics with a customizable, dual-layer system for identifying destructive commands. They can now be flagged and highlighted using either a
#destructivetag within the command description or via custom regular expressions defined in your configuration file.
Improvements
- Robust Root Command Parsing: Extracted and overhauled the underlying root command parsing logic. The tool now accurately isolates the core command by:
- Ignoring leading environment variable assignments (e.g.,
VAR=val). - Handling shell chaining operators (e.g.,
&&,;,||). - Skipping common command wrappers (e.g.,
sudo,doas,time,env) along with any of their preceding flags. - Correctly parsing shell function definitions (e.g.,
function my_fn() {...}) and tracking variable overrides across multiple shell environments.
- Ignoring leading environment variable assignments (e.g.,
- Destructive Commands Styling: Enhanced the visual rendering of destructive commands across the command list and variable replacement TUIs by adding a dedicated configuration option for a secondary destructive color.
- SSH Support for
tldr fetch: Thetldr fetchcommand now supports SSH connections, ensuring compatibility with environments and network setups where Git traffic is strictly enforced over SSH.
Bug Fixes
- PowerShell on Linux Keybinds: Fixed a bug that broke the default search keybinding when running PowerShell inside a Linux environment.
Update Considerations
- PowerShell on Linux Users: If you are running PowerShell on a Linux platform, you must restart your terminal session or reload your shell profile after upgrading to apply the corrected search keybinding integration. Other shell users do not need to take action.
