v1.5.16

Service 1.5.16, launcher 1.4.15.

• Picture notifications: Network notifications > Show as QR code. A phone that scans the code opens a page, served by the TV for ten minutes at a random address, that shows the notification address, the token and the header to send, with Copy buttons (instead of typing a 48-character token). The page follows the same allow list as the notification port and stops working after ten minutes.
• Documentation: the Picture notifications page describes the flow with screenshots of the cards, the manager screens and the phone page (rendered with made-up data), and a Home Assistant example; the Security page describes the token page.

v1.5.15

Service 1.5.15, launcher 1.4.15.

• Fixes unreadable text in the Inputs and Customise menus (and every list with right-hand text): the Live TV favourite star and the menus' right-hand text used the same CSS class, and the star's 26 px width squeezed the text into a column. Introduced with the Live TV features in v1.5.12.

v1.5.14

Service 1.5.14, launcher 1.4.14.

• Themes are now read from GitHub instead of being shipped with the service: the manager's Theme list comes from the themes/ folder of this repository (main branch), shows each theme's screenshot and description on the left, and downloads a theme (with its wallpaper) to the TV when you choose it. Downloaded themes stay on the TV and work offline; Classic is built in. New themes need a pull request and no release (see themes/README.md). The accent colour and going back are under Theme options.
• Bloom: the dock stays at the bottom with the flower wallpaper; Down moves the dock up and the apps appear below it, centred (new theme settings: grid.mode push, grid.dockUp, grid.align). The wallpaper is dimmed behind the apps.
• The launcher needs service 1.5.14 or newer for themes (update both in the manager).

v1.5.13

Service 1.5.13, launcher 1.4.13.

• Fixes the bundled themes: v1.5.10 to v1.5.12 only showed Classic because the setup and updates did not copy the themes to the TV. The manager's Theme menu now lists the themes with their description on the left; accent colour and going back are under Theme options.
• Input key on webOS before 10 (issues #5, #6): the Inputs list over the running app is started when the key is pressed and closed after use (Back, a choice or ten idle seconds); nothing runs hidden in the background, which kept the remote and showed a loading circle on webOS 5 and 6.5. Input key > Input key shows chooses between: over the app, ready in the background (default on webOS 10 and newer), over the app, started when pressed (default before), and the launcher's own list. When LG's Home is selected the launcher's list gives the key back to LG.
• The manager list scrolls with the focus, so Share log and Uninstall can be reached (issues #4, #5).
• webOS 5: menus and the Live TV list are swapped for fresh elements on redraw, to avoid ghosted text (issue #4; a best guess, not tested on a webOS 5 TV).
• A dropped connection can no longer leave an update check or a playlist read hanging; child processes use their own timeout; the service logs its last operations when the previous run ended abnormally (they appear in Share log).
• Live TV: playback no longer treats a TV that does not send the playing event as stalled; Live TV is optional (manager > Live TV); the Guide key can open the channel guide; favourites, recents, filters, search and several streams per channel; manager Live TV view (playlist setup by QR code, refresh, Guide key, clear recents, remove playlist). The manager menu is grouped.

v1.5.12

Service 1.5.12, launcher 1.4.12.

• Live TV: favourites, recent channels, filters (country, language, quality), search, several streams per channel with fallback, reasons when a channel does not play, statistics; the TV's playback events no longer cause stall-reload loops.
• Live TV is optional: a switch in the manager app hides it everywhere and leaves LG's player and guide alone.
• The Guide button can open the Live TV channel guide (learn the key in the manager app).
• Manager app: the menu is grouped (updates, home settings, features, support); new Live TV view with playlist setup by QR code, refresh, Guide key, clear recents and remove the playlist; Voice menu reordered.

v1.5.11

Service 1.5.11, launcher 1.4.11.

• Themes now live in the themes/ folder of the repository, with a README and a screenshot of each; the documentation has a guide to contributing a theme.
• New bundled theme Bloom (a flower wallpaper, dock at the bottom, round buttons) replaces Sunset. Anyone who had chosen Sunset gets Classic.
• Theme setting group for the app name is now shelf (was name, which clashed with the theme's own name).

v1.5.10

Service 1.5.10, launcher 1.4.10.

• Theme engine: every part of the home screen (clock, top buttons, app name, dock, grid) has its own anchor, alignment, offset and size; dock at the bottom with a glass panel and up to eight apps; an overlay app grid; round or flat buttons; stacked clock; tile gloss and outline; focus ring; typeface; themes can extend other themes. All settings are listed in the Themes page of the documentation, generated from one schema.
• New bundled theme: Sunset (wallpaper, dock at the bottom, round buttons, Down opens all apps).

v1.5.9

Service 1.5.9, launcher 1.4.9.

• Home Assistant: recognised or typed text can go to Home Assistant's Assist (conversation API) with a long-lived token; routing (Home Assistant first then the AI, Home Assistant only, the AI only), Assist agent choice, conversation memory, test connection. Set up from the phone page.
• Themes: colours, tile and text size, columns, clock, glow, animation speed and wallpaper as data files; seven bundled themes and an accent colour, chosen in the manager app. See the Themes page of the documentation.
• Icons: opaque icons with a transparent margin are cropped to their visible part and fitted to the tile; icon colours are recomputed once.
• webOS 5: picture notifications use the overlay window before webOS 25; input region and key mask fall back to a JSON string; the setup warns when the TV's Home Style routes Home to LG's full-screen Home.
• Node 8 compatibility: crypto.randomInt fallback and checks for the older Node.js (tools/node8-check.sh).

v1.5.4

Service 1.5.4.

• Update channel: the manager app can follow a test build of a branch (a pre-release named test- that GitHub Actions publishes for every branch push) and go back to the stable releases. Test builds are opt-in; this stable updater still reads only the latest release.
• install.sh takes CYTV_BRANCH to install a test build from scratch.
• crypto.randomInt fallback for the older Node.js of webOS 5 (Live TV pairing).
• tools/node8-check.sh runs the service checks under Node 8.12.0.
