Changed
Regex redaction patterns no longer mask the attributes Latitude needs to attribute an LLM span: gen_ai.operation.name, gen_ai.provider.name, gen_ai.system, gen_ai.request.model and gen_ai.response.model. A broad pattern such as ^gen_ai\. or .* used to mask them, so
Latitude dropped the span from cost and usage rollups and lost its model attribution. They are
exempt whether or not the SDK set a cost, because Latitude also needs them to price spans the SDK
didn't. Listing one of these keys as an exact string pattern still redacts it.
Added
DEFAULT_REDACT_PATTERNS and REDACTION_EXEMPT_ATTRIBUTES are exported, so a custom redact
can keep the defaults (attributes=[*DEFAULT_REDACT_PATTERNS, ...]). A custom redact still
replaces the defaults rather than adding to them. New ATTRIBUTES.operation_name, provider_name, system, request_model and response_model constants.
A "Redaction" section in the Python telemetry docs: the default patterns, custom patterns and mask, the exempt attributes, and the fact that redaction applies only to what Latitude exports.
