@arach arach released this 19 Oct 06:34

Canvas 2.3.0

Download Canvas.dmg for Canvas.app. Install or update the compatible CLI with:

npm install -g @arach/blink

Both canvas and blink work. Existing notes, settings, and the app identity remain unchanged.
Update the app and CLI together to use this release's stricter private IPC permissions.
The separate Blink.dmg contains the same signed Canvas app under the Blink.app filename required by older installers.

Lattices 0.14.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 22:36

Lattices now lives at lattices-dev/lattices on GitHub and @lattices/lattices on npm.

  • Keep using lats and lattices. Existing @arach/lattices and @lattices/cli installations receive the same update.
  • Package upgrades retain the installed package name and login startup paths.
  • Companion installers use the stable GitHub repository identity and recognize release assets under both repository names.
  • The README and organization profile introduce the native workspace and the Lattices product family.

Update Lattices before using the companion installer from version 0.14.0. Existing configuration, sessions, and app identities are preserved.

Lattices 0.14.0

@arach arach released this 14 Oct 01:18

Lattices 0.14.0 brings the native workspace, CLI, website, and documentation onto one release.

  • Navigate Spaces with the keyboard and the new filmstrip.
  • Move windows from Overview, with verified Space and display placement.
  • Use Logitech handoff gestures across the workspace.
  • Explore the new learning section, interactive lessons, tool comparisons, and captioned videos.
  • Updated CLI and agent documentation, including the Action named-workspace and browser contracts.

The macOS download is the signed, notarized free edition for Apple silicon on macOS Tahoe. Action, Blink, and Speech keep their separate product releases; this tag includes their converged source without publishing new standalone binaries.

Lattices 0.13.5

Reversible workspace layers, clearer activity, and the accumulated main-branch improvements since the 0.13.3 macOS release. Some CLI packaging changes were already included in npm 0.13.4.

Layers and workspace recovery

  • Turn layers off without deleting saved definitions or changing their desktop assignments. The app and lats layer exit share one recovery path that restores parked windows and unhides apps. Pending restoration remains visible and retries when the relevant desktop is shown.
  • Cancel delayed layer work when leaving layer mode, so an old switch does not reapply itself after exit.
  • Improve shortcut ownership, layer-preview escape behavior, and active-layer state across menus, the command bar, the editor, and the daemon.
  • Include Classic view, layer aiming while modifiers are held, confirmation before switching, undo, and numeric-pad layer navigation.
  • Record desktop maps and support restoration. Gather windows when a display leaves and restore them when it returns.
  • Keep Overview usable when a selected layer disappears, retain access to its selection controls, and list all windows.

Activity and desktop controls

  • Add a native Activity table with level filtering and selected-entry details.
  • Expand Machines into a workspace page for local displays and paired hosts, with build identity, cluster actions, and a shared arrangement canvas. Display changes use a timed keep-or-revert trial.
  • Add explicit visiting-cursor controls, return-home recovery, and an opt-in setting for incoming visits. Remove the separate external pointer-sharing integration.
  • Refine Long into a draggable desktop tile with light/dark appearance, event-driven expressions, and a card of Lattices actions.

Remote hosts and distribution

  • Include the Linux host and remote Action engine work, signed pairing requests, separate act/drive permissions, revocation cleanup, event-health reporting, direct Hyprland socket transport, and a passive Omarchy tray with session autostart.
  • Add host MCP support, per-connection event filtering, cluster CLI routing, and clearer API method domains with compatibility aliases.
  • Keep companion binaries out of the npm package. Use the host's Bun for companion installation and fetch pet artwork separately.
  • Record native and editor build provenance for release verification.

The macOS artifact is signed and notarized. These notes summarize merged source changes, not a claim that every remote-host configuration has passed fresh live acceptance. Action 0.3.1 has its own app, runtime, release notes, and isolation limits; Lattices workspace layers are a separate feature.

Action 0.3.1 — persistent displays and operator controls

Action 0.3.1

Persistent task displays, explicit operator controls, and stricter browser sessions.

Changes

  • Separate the virtual monitor from task sessions. Use layer prepare for explicit setup, layer open to attach a task, layer close to restore task windows while keeping the monitor connected, and layer release to disconnect it. layer display-status reports monitor state without changing it.
  • Add persistent Pause/Resume, Stop, Agent, and Take over controls, a host-name header, and a separate Hide action. Stop ends the layer without activating its target; Take over activates the target. Both retain a handoff that blocks further layer input until a newly authorized session opens.
  • Bind private-browser input to its CDP session. Missing connections, unsupported operations, and invalid targets fail without a native-input fallback.
  • Add build provenance, runtime/source parity checks, host quarantine, and read-only discovery of operator-reviewed isolation evidence.
  • Package a portable runtime with the signed app and its canonical shared dependency. Keep the archive's bin/ and products/ directories together and set ACTION_ROOT to /products/action.
  • Update Action instructions and the separately versioned Action Browser skill, now 0.4.1. Browser tools remain part of lattices mcp; the plugin carries the skill.

Verification and limits

The macOS artifact is signed and notarized. Physical-display captures verify the host header and viewer controls. Live checks passed Pause/Resume, Stop, Hide/re-show, and Take over on a task-created browser. Agent's missing-owner callback was observed; bringing an existing opener forward was not verified. Separate strict monitoring passed two task sessions for this exact artifact on one prepared display: 116 samples over 7.730 seconds, with display configuration, focus, pointer, and unrelated window frames unchanged.

Initial display preparation, monitor-owner restart, and release can change desktop topology. A known laptop cold-display mode change remains unresolved and blocked. CDP-only input does not prevent page focus requests or system UI. Native app input can temporarily borrow focus or the pointer.

Pause cannot undo dispatched work. Stop does not cancel the whole agent harness. Agent resolves only a host-local opener; cross-machine chat routing and streamed interactive control are not implemented. Borrowed windows restore; task-created windows close, subject to unsaved-changes prompts. Passing artifact checks does not certify every host or clear quarantine.
