SysManager 1.112.4
[1.112.4] - 2026-09-22
Cancelling a shred could destroy the file and then tell you nothing had happened. File Shredder read
Cancel as "stop this instant", including in the middle of overwriting a file. The file stayed on disk under
its own name with its contents already replaced, and the queue reported it as "Cancelled" — so the one
operation in the app whose entire purpose is destroying data was the one that could quietly lie about it.
Cancel now stops the queue: anything not started is left alone, and a file already being overwritten is
finished and removed rather than left as a wreck.
Fixed
- A file whose overwrite had begun was abandoned half-done. Three end states were reachable, all of them
reported as "Cancelled": the file fully overwritten at its original length (the token was checked at the top
of each pass, so pass one had already finished), the leading chunks zeroed with the rest still readable (the
token was also checked every 64 KB), and the file truncated to zero bytes but never deleted (the token was
checked by the flush that follows the final truncate). Cancellation is now decided only between passes, and
only while the file is still intact: once a byte has been written the pass in flight runs to completion, the
remaining passes are dropped, and the file is removed. The extra work is bounded by the rest of a single
pass. - A cancelled folder is no longer reported as untouched. Cancelling mid-folder raised an error that threw
away the count, so the whole folder showed "Cancelled" while the files already visited were gone for good.
The folder now returns what it did, and says so in plain English: how many files inside were destroyed
before you stopped, and that the rest are still there. - The summary of a cancelled run is no longer blank. Everything the run had to tell you — files left in
place, links deliberately skipped, a file finished with fewer passes — was collected and then discarded by
the cancellation path, which replaced it with the four words "Shredding cancelled." A stopped run now
reports the same counts and explanations a completed one does, and the items it did destroy are recorded in
the activity history rather than omitted.
Changed
ShredFileAsyncreturns the number of passes that actually ran, so the queue can tell "shredded as
asked" apart from "shredded with fewer passes because you cancelled" and word the difference.
Verify the download

This build is not code-signed, so Windows will warn on first launch. That is
expected for a small independent app: see what the warning says and what to
click.
Code signing is planned through the SignPath Foundation,
which provides free certificates to open-source projects, with signing performed by
SignPath.io. Until then, the SHA256 above and the build
attestation below are what establish that a download is the genuine build.
Code signing policy
This release is not code-signed. The team roles, release-approval process and
privacy policy required by the SignPath Foundation programme
are documented in advance under Code signing
policy. That
documentation is a prerequisite for applying, not evidence of a certificate. The
attribution line naming SignPath as the signing provider will appear here once a
certificate is actually issued.
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless
specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it. Full
privacy policy.
Verify where this binary came from
This exe was built by GitHub Actions from this public source, and the build is
recorded in the Sigstore public transparency log. With the
GitHub CLI:
gh attestation verify .\SysManager-v1.112.4.exe --repo laurentiu021/SystemManagerThat proves which commit and workflow produced this exact binary, something the
SHA256 file cannot show, since it is published alongside the exe it describes.
Each release also ships SysManager-v1.112.4.sbom.json, a CycloneDX inventory of
every dependency resolved for this build.
