SysManager 1.54.0
[1.54.0] - 2026-07-22
Added
- Bandwidth Monitor — a new Monitor tab that shows how much data is moving through your network and which apps are using it (replaces the previous work-in-progress placeholder). It has two measurement modes so it's useful to everyone without forcing elevation:
- Default (no administrator): accurate machine-wide download/upload speed with a live rolling throughput chart (the last ~2 minutes), plus a per-app list attributed by active TCP/UDP connections — which programs are talking, how many connections each holds, and the remote ports involved. This reads the same connection tables Windows exposes to any user (
GetExtendedTcpTable/GetExtendedUdpTable), so it needs no elevation and no setup. - Precise per-app rates (optional, administrator): exact per-process upload/download speeds and per-session data totals (like Task Manager's Network column), captured from a Windows kernel ETW session. It's offered only when the app is already running as administrator, and if the kernel session can't start (privilege, a locked-down host, a blocked native helper) the tab logs it and falls back to the no-admin view — it never crashes because precise mode was unavailable.
- Threshold alert: set a Mbps limit and the tab warns when total download or upload exceeds it (useful for catching a runaway background upload); 0 turns the alert off.
- Strictly local and read-only — SysManager only observes network activity, never throttles or blocks it, and nothing about your traffic leaves the machine. Total-throughput history is stored as NDJSON under
%LocalAppData%\SysManager. Closes #337.

Changed
- Added the
Microsoft.Diagnostics.Tracing.TraceEventdependency (used only by the Bandwidth Monitor's optional precise mode). Its native helpers embed into the single-file build, so the shippedSysManager-vX.Y.Z.exeremains one self-contained file.
