v5.2
tree-sitter-cli joined the bootstrap scripts on Linux, macOS, and Windows, and Neovim now auto-installs 32 Treesitter parsers on startup: lua, vim, vimdoc, query, c, cpp, rust, go, python, java, c_sharp, php, scala, javascript, typescript, tsx, jsx, html, css, scss, svelte, yaml, json, toml, markdown, markdown_inline, bash, powershell, dockerfile, and typst. Parser installation is cross-platform with automatic dependency checking.
The nvim-treesitter configuration was rewritten for the v2.0 API: the deprecated nvim-treesitter.configs module gave way to nvim-treesitter.config, the unsupported ensure_installed, auto_install, and sync_install options were removed, parsers install manually through the Lua API with startup auto-install, and language loading is conditional on the installed parsers. This fixed parsers failing to auto-install under v2.0. On Linux the powershell_es LSP left the Neovim configuration because it requires pwsh, which fixed the LSP error when opening PowerShell files, while the Treesitter PowerShell parser stays available for syntax highlighting.
