MCP Harbor is itself an MCP server, so an agent can search the registry, read install instructions and submit servers without a browser.
-
Endpoint:
https://ai.mcpharbor.dev/mcp -
Transport: Streamable HTTP (stateless;
POSTonly) - Auth: none for searching and reading
Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-registry-search https://ai.mcpharbor.dev/mcpmcp-registry-search is just the local label for your own config; use any name you like.
Any other client: add a remote server of type http with that URL. The MCP server directory shows the exact block for each client.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
search_servers |
Searches names, titles, descriptions, tags and tool names. Returns short summaries. |
get_server |
One server by exact name: its server.json, review status and install snippets. |
submit_server |
Adds a server. It is reviewed before appearing in search — see Publishing a Server. |
Search before submitting, so you don't add a duplicate.
llms.txt describes the site, the endpoint and the tools in plain text.
As io.github.lbesecker195/mcp-registry-search-directory. It is republished automatically after every deploy — see publishing to the official registry.
