Houselights 0.2.0 (beta)

A new look, shows you can mark season by season, and Trakt. Your films and shows, on the big screen.

What is new

• A new visual identity, "Projection". The picture lights the room: backdrops and posters tint the veils
  and plates around them, the focus is a white frame that travels along a row, and nothing grows under it.
  One ember colour says where you are and what plays. The Houselights mark is now home's place in the top
  bar. Every secondary screen, settings, sheets, forms and search, was redrawn to the same grammar, with the
  library's posters as a diffuse field under the settings.
• Series: watched, season by season. On a show's page, the watched mark acts on the season or the
  episode you are on; a long press marks the whole show. Marking a title unwatched clears its resume point.
• Trakt.tv (Settings > Trakt, for your own folders; Jellyfin has its own plugin). Connect with a code
  entered on your phone or computer. What you watch is kept on both sides: history, resume points and what is
  playing, a title counting as watched from 80 % of its length. Marks and stops wait while Trakt cannot be
  reached.
• Smoother on the player. Measured on a Zidoo Z1000 Pro, home's janky frames fell from 3–5 % to about
  1 %, the poster wall from 0.3 % to nearly none, and the cold start from 0.65 s to 0.5 s.
• Easier to read from the sofa. Nothing that is read is set under 16 sp any more; the technical sheet
  reads the file alone, picture, sound, subtitles and file, each format whole on its line.

Beta notes

• Tested on a Zidoo Z1000 Pro (Android 9) playing from a Synology NAS over NFS. SMB with a password,
  Jellyfin and Trakt have been tested less: reports are welcome in the issues.
• The translations other than English and French have not been reviewed by native speakers yet.
• Prefer NFS. With SMB, use a dedicated read-only account on your NAS (README, Security).

Install

Download Houselights-0.2.0.apk and install it over 0.1.0: the library, the watch history and the
settings are kept (README, Install).

Houselights 0.1.0 (beta)

The first public release of Houselights, a beta: a cinema-style media browser for Zidoo players that hands
playback to the native Zidoo player, so HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, audio passthrough and the player's own
menus keep working.

What it does

• My files: scans NFS or SMB shares, identifies films and shows from their names, and fetches artwork and
  details from TMDB. Kodi-style NFO files and local artwork take precedence; each title can be corrected from
  its page (artwork, or a manual match). Films of a saga are gathered.
• Technical details read from the files: resolution, HDR, Dolby Vision, audio formats, subtitles.
• Jellyfin: browses your server and reports playback progress back to it.
• Native playback in the Zidoo player, with resume points kept in sync.
• Languages: details in the device's language or one of 27 chosen in Settings > Library; the interface in
  English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Chinese (simplified and traditional),
  Japanese and Korean, following the device or chosen in Settings > Display.
