PICKET ACOUSTINT v1.0.0 — first public release

First public, TAK-third-party-signed release of the PICKET ACOUSTINT plugin:
on-phone acoustic classification and direction cueing inside ATAK.

Highlights

  • 7-class on-device sound classifier (background, drone, aircraft, vehicle, voice,
gunfire, explosion) running a compact on-device model, fully offline.
  • Live acoustic bearing cue from phones with two direct mic channels, shown as a
bearing fan in the ACOUSTINT BUBBLE panel (6 cue styles: arc, wedge, rose, PPI,
    and more).
  • Honesty-first UI: "NO FRESH BEARING" instead of stale cues, dimmed rear lobe on
front/back ambiguity, widened cone when uncalibrated.
  • Impulsive sounds are UTC time-stamped for server-side multi-node correlation.
  • Optional mutual-TLS WebSocket uplink to a PICKET Fusion server using ATAK's own
    enrolled credentials.
  • Measurement-grade capture path: the phone's voice-call audio processing is
disabled so the signal stays faithful.

Signed by the TAK Product Center third-party signing service; ATAK shows the
third-party-signed indicator. The plugin reports itself as version 1.7.0-public
(versionCode 15) in ATAK's plugin manager. An ATAK-CIV 5.6.0 build will be added
to this release when it clears the signing pipeline.

Known limitations

See the README's "Known limitations" section; in short: 2-mic bearing carries
front/back ambiguity (shown, not hidden), bearing needs a phone with two direct
mic channels, the classification vote is advisory, and multi-node correlation
requires a Fusion server.
