Natamux v0.1.38
Subtasks now work on their parent's branch, and a new Settings dialog gathers the app-wide settings. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Tasks
- A subtask is now part of its parent's work. Its workspace starts from the parent's branch, and its pull request goes into the parent's branch. Natamux pushes the parent's branch first. See Subtasks.
- The parent waits for its open subtasks: its next stage starts when the last one is done, cancelled or deleted. Before that stage's agent starts, Natamux runs
git pull --ff-onlyin the parent's worktree to bring in the merged work. A stage that is already running keeps running. - A subtask's
context.mdends with a## Parent tasksection: the parent's id, title, notes and the folder of its stage files. - A subtask cannot depend on its parent.
Dashboard
- Add subtask… in the row menu of the sidebar and the task table asks for a title and adds a draft subtask. See Sidebar.
- A new Settings dialog has Appearance (theme, UI size, terminal font), Desktop app (keep awake, automatic update checks) and a link to each project's settings. Open it with Settings… in the Account menu or
Mod+,. See Settings.
Desktop app
- Settings… (
Cmd/Ctrl+,) in the app menu on macOS, and in the File menu on Windows and Linux, opens the Settings dialog. See Menu. - The window shows a spinner in its center from the start until the dashboard is ready, instead of a blank window.
CLI
natamux task create <title> --parent <id>makes a subtask. Without--repo, it is in the parent's project. See task.

Natamux v0.1.37
Agents come back after a restart, a notification opens its task, and the desktop app shows how many tasks need you. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Desktop app
- Click a notification to bring the window forward and open its task. See Notifications.
- The app icon shows how many tasks need you: in the Dock on macOS, in the launcher on Linux. Windows shows no count.
- File → Keep Computer Awake While Agents Run, on by default: while an agent runs, the computer does not go to sleep on its own. See Menu.
Dashboard
- In the command palette,
Tabchanges the scope: Needs you, then each project that has a task, then no scope. Typed text searches inside the scope. PressBackspacewith nothing typed to remove it. See Command palette.
Terminal
- After a restart, opening a task brings back every agent of the task, not only the first one. An agent that crashed or was killed comes back too. An agent you quit stays quit. See A shell after a daemon restart.
- An agent you started by hand in a task shell comes back on its last conversation too. While it comes back, the sidebar shows it as an agent.
- A terminal hidden for 20 minutes is closed in the dashboard to save memory. Its shell keeps running, and the terminal opens again when you go back to it. A terminal on screen is never closed.
- Task shells get
LANG=C.UTF-8when the daemon has no locale, so typed Vietnamese and other non-ASCII letters are no longer garbled. See Task terminals. - Find counts the matches again after you switch Match case or Use regular expression.
Fixes
- An agent's
git addorgit commitno longer fails onindex.lockwhile the dashboard is open. The dashboard reads git status without the lock. - A menu opened inside a dialog shows above the dialog, and focuses its first item.
- A double click on a row of the task table opens the row you clicked first.
- Start agent is no longer offered on a done or cancelled task.
- A subtask is in its parent's project unless you pick another one.
- A second fan out numbers its tries after the earlier ones, so there is no second
(try 2). - Save as template cuts the name and title to the template limits instead of failing.
- The dialog to remove a workspace names the program that runs in a shell with no agent.
- The dashboard fonts load again.
- Screen readers no longer announce tasks that already needed you when the dashboard opened.
- The status bar says "1 needs you", and removing a workspace with one change says "1 change that is not committed".

Natamux v0.1.36
The desktop app no longer shows Sign out, and in a browser Sign out says what it removes. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Dashboard
- The desktop app has no Sign out in the account menu any more: it signs in by itself on every page load, so Sign out only showed a token form for a token you never saw. In a browser, Sign out now asks to remove the daemon token from this browser. See Account menu.

Natamux v0.1.35
Natamux can ask the agent about selected lines of a diff, and shows the files of a task's worktree with an editor for one file. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Changes
- Select lines in a diff, then click Ask agent, press
Mod+Shift+A, or pick Ask agent about the selection in the right-click menu. The lines go into the comment box, and the agent gets the file, the line range and the code. Lines from the left side of a side-by-side diff are marked (before the change). Over 10,000 characters, only the line numbers are sent. See Ask about selected lines.
Files
- The details panel has a new Files view with the files and folders of the task's worktree. A changed file has the same letter and color as in the Changes tab. See Files of the worktree.
- Drag a file or folder onto a terminal of the same task to paste its path there. Natamux does not press Enter.
- Click a file to open it in a tab of the workspace, edit it and press
Mod+S. An edit that is not saved stays when you switch tabs, files or tasks. When the agent changes the file while you edit it, choose Reload or Keep mine. A binary file or a file over 1 MB is not shown.

Natamux v0.1.34
Natamux shows the notice of a task and its actions in the current stage card, and the Account menu can open an issue. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Stages
- The notice of a task that needs input, failed or waits for review is now in the current stage card of the Progress view in the details, with its actions: Answer in terminal, Resume, Start agent, Approve and Send back. In v0.1.33 it was in the workspace header row, where the review notice could draw over the git buttons. See Control a stage by hand.
- The workspace header shows the state of the task in every state. With the details closed, click Needs input, Failed or In review there to open them at the current stage. See Needs input or failed.
- On a phone, the banner under the header stays as it was.
Dashboard
- Account → Report an issue opens a new issue on the Natamux repository on GitHub, in your browser. See Account menu.

Natamux v0.1.33
Natamux stops a Review agent's natamux done from passing Implement after a send back, keeps more work safe across restarts and quits, and the website is new. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Stages
natamux donefrom a shell of a stage that does not run now is refused with a message. Before, a Review agent that sent a task back could pass Implement at once, and the two stages looped. See Whatnatamux donedoes.- A send back from a stage with End the agent and close its shell when the stage is done now also ends its agent and closes its shell. The next round starts a new agent. Shell 1 is never closed. See End a stage's shell.
- If your
.natamux.jsonhas anagent-reviewprompt that says "After send back, runnatamux done", change it to "After send back, stop. Do not runnatamux done." - A task that waits for the tasks it depends on, or for its workspace, still starts after a daemon restart.
- When the agent runs
natamux donewhile you click Mark as done, the checks run once, so a failure no longer uses up the agent's retry. - A CI check of a task with no workspace or branch fails with a clear reason. Before, it could run in the daemon's own folder.
- Removing a workspace keeps the latest stage files, such as a spec written after a send back.
Agents
- Copilot asks for input only when it shows a prompt, not on each tool call it approves by itself.
- A Cursor or Copilot hook file that also has a hook of your own is no longer replaced. See Agents and hooks.
Terminal
- The notice of a task (needs input, review and the like) is in the workspace header row, so the shells no longer change size and blink when the task changes state. On a phone it stays under the header.
- A cursor the program hid stays hidden when a terminal opens again, so the second terminal no longer shows two cursors.
- Quitting the app or stopping the daemon waits for every shell to end, and stops programs that ignore the hang-up signal.
Tasks
- A change that comes right after you edit a task file by hand no longer writes over your edit. The change is refused with
409 conflict; try it again. - A new task never gets the id of a task whose file was removed from outside Natamux.
- PR and issue links take only
httpandhttpsURLs.
Reliability and security
- The daemon checks its token by the route it runs, so a path with
\or..can no longer skip the check. - Calls to
ghstop after 60 seconds, update downloads and checks have time limits, and quitting does not wait on a daemon that hangs. - Natamux looks up pull requests once per project, not once per task, and a running agent no longer adds a log line every 30 seconds.
- Failed side work in a stage is logged, and the next stage still starts.
Website
- A new homepage that starts with a workflow, new pictures of the current dashboard in both themes, and a regrouped guide.
- The download section shows the unsigned app note as a callout.

Natamux v0.1.32
Natamux folds the paths a task did not take into one row in the Progress tab, and the guide has new pages on building a workflow and mixing agents. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Progress
- A path not taken is one folded row with its name, its condition, Not taken and its number of stages. Click it to see its stages. See Paths with a condition.
- The branch says Took and the path name with the reason, Picks a path when it gets here before the task reaches it, or No path was taken.
- The lane of the path taken says Taken in words. Lanes not taken are no longer faded, so their text is easier to read.
- Overview shows the times a stage was sent back only when there are any.
- The current stage scrolls to the middle of the timeline.
Guide
- New page: Build a workflow, with a solo and a team example made of stages, groups, branch paths and send back loops.
- New page: Mix agents in one task: give each stage its own agent and model.

Natamux v0.1.31
Natamux keeps Shell 1 open for the whole task, takes task titles of up to 400 characters, and says Create PR on the button that opens a pull request. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Stages
- A stage in Shell 1 no longer closes it when it is done. Shell 1 keeps the task's agent and its session, so the next stage gets its prompt in the same session. In the stage settings, a stage in Shell 1 shows "This stage runs in Shell 1, which cannot be closed." in place of End the agent and close its shell when the stage is done. A
.natamux.jsonwith"endShell": trueon a Shell 1 stage still loads; the flag is ignored there. See End a stage's shell.
Terminal
- Fix: a shell that a stage closed while you looked at another task came back as an empty plain shell when you opened the task again. It now stays closed.
- Fix: a new shell, a closed shell, or a banner or panel that changed a terminal's size showed the shell redrawing. The pane is now hidden while its size changes, and fades in after the shell has redrawn.
Dashboard
- The button that opens a new pull request says Create PR in the workspace header, the phone Git actions menu, the banner of a finished task, the wrap-up and the toast after a push. Before, a narrow window showed Open PR, the same text as the link to an existing pull request. See Push and open a pull request.
Tasks
- A task title may have up to 400 characters, up from 200. See Task fields.
- Fix: when the daemon refused a field, Start a task said only "The daemon answered with status 400." The message now names the field and the reason, such as
title: Too big: expected string to have <=400 characters.

Natamux v0.1.30
Natamux lets a stage prompt of your own say when the agent must not run natamux done. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Stages
- The line Natamux adds at the end of every stage prompt now reads "When you are done, run
natamux done, unless the steps above say not to." Before, it was "When you are done, runnatamux done.", which said the opposite of a prompt that tells the agent to stop without it, for example afternatamux stage backor while it waits for you. The default Review prompt had the same clash. Every prompt still ends with the line. See Configuration.

Natamux v0.1.29
Natamux lets a pipeline split into paths by a condition, and blurs a project's names in the sidebar while you share your screen. If you have v0.1.2 or later, the app updates itself to this version.
Guide: https://natamux.github.io/docs/
Stages
- A branch splits the pipeline into 2 to 4 paths, each with a condition and its own stages: a file has some text, or a command succeeds. The task takes the first path that holds, and the stages of the other paths never run. The last path can be the Otherwise path. Build it with Add branch in Project settings → Stages; the chart shows it as an If node, and the Progress view says which path the task took. See Paths with a condition.
Dashboard
- Click the eye next to a project in the sidebar (Blur names) to blur the names of the project, its tasks, subtasks, agents and finished workspaces, also in Pinned. Task states stay visible. Click it again (Show names) to see them. See Sidebar.
Desktop app
- Timed update checks are now off by default. Before, they were on by default. If you never changed Check for Updates Automatically, the app stops its timed checks after this update and looks for a new version only when you choose Check for Updates…. To check every 6 hours again, tick Check for Updates Automatically. If you ticked it yourself before, the timed checks stay on. See Updates.
