Blocking : License Key popup randomly appearing

Super annoying : the popup nagging to license keeps (randomly?) appearing. It's also preventing the computer from going to sleep.

I'm all fine with the nagging reminder every time the app starts, this is fair, but those popups are not acceptable IMO

The popup will appear when launching Laragon and starting all services to remind buying a license to support the development of Laragon.

This issue is different : the popup appears at random interval. I usually don't touch Laragon for days if not weeks, don't start or restart any service after initial launch, yet the popup pops.

As it was discussed already in several issues and threads: the author's decision between "transform Laragon into a commercial product with active support and updates" and "abandon Laragon" was the first option. And you can be happy to choose between Laragon and other software. XAMPP was abandoned because of the lack of support.

So I think it's greedy to expect people to work for free so you can use the software for free.

And my answer would have been more diplomatic if your comment @A-UNSAL would have been different.

Those writing from fake accounts usually leave fake comments, just like you.
This isn't the only program developed for free in the world! There are many free alternatives. You can find them if you do a little research. The developer could make Laragon paid or restrict its free availability; however, constantly opening popups like a virus is extremely greedy behavior. Additionally, other revenue models could be considered. For example, hosting providers would probably want to advertise on this program...

Finally, even if I wanted to buy a license, I wouldn't because of this greedy behavior. @AWqxKAWERbXo

Laragon is licensed software, but I don't want to cripple its features or turn it into adware. There's no hard paywall, no functionality locked behind a blocker.
Instead, Laragon is fully usable for free, with a popup reminder encouraging users to support its development. That's intentional.
People don't pay because they're forced to by a popup. They pay because Laragon genuinely helps them, and they want to support the work behind it. Without that support, the project can't continue.

You are very clever but that doesn't help Laragon.

This issue is real. All the entitled people who are saying nagging is a justified price to pay are ignoring the fact that this could be an actual bug with a fix. Unexpected center screen popups when you're doing something else to annoy or scare you into buying a license doesn't sound like a good faith way to allow free use of your software. I doubt it was done on purpose.

The expectation to have a free supported Laragon is a misunderstanding of the fact that this is only enabled to try Laragon. Laragon could also add a self-uninstall mode instead while unlicensed to clarify the demo / test before buy purpose.
