Release list
Seam Ripper v2.0
The biggest update yet: Naughty Bear scripts are now readable and safe to edit, and mods can be shared as small patch files rather than just sending over game files.
New
- Readable NB1 scripts. A new decompiler built for this game turns the compiled scripts back into readable Lua, and about 98.7% of the game's hashed names now show as real names!
- Edit and Ship. Edit a script on the Files page, Check it, then Ship. Only the functions you changed are recompiled, and every file is checked before it's written. Scripts that are in several containers get shipped to all of them, since the game only uses one copy.
- Patches (
.srpatch). Share a mod as a small file that only holds the lines you changed, never game files or code. Seam Ripper checks the other person's files first, and patches still apply if they've modded other scripts. - Backups and History. Every game file is backed up before it's changed. Undo one file or put everything back to retail in one click, for if you really screw up your modding.
- Search. Find text in every script in the game. Works on PiP too, if you're wanting to look through those.
- Hash lookup. Turn a hashed name into its number and back. Useful for when you want to edit stuff in game code.
- Play your changes. Launch your restuff build straight from Seam Ripper, or Ship & launch in one step.
- Colour themes. Light, Dark, Naughty, Paradise, Midnight and Teddy.
- Docs. leonmustdie.github.io/seam-ripper explains what the game's scripts do: hats, bear stats, scoring and NPC fear for NB1; weapons, outfits and grades for PiP. Currently a work-in-progress, but please check it out sometimes, I'll be adding stuff when I have the time to do so.
Fixed
- Shipped NB1 files could crash the game when a resource ended up in the wrong place. This is now caught before anything is written.
- Read-only game files are refused cleanly instead of failing partway through.
- Running several copies of Seam Ripper at once no longer causes conflicts.
Getting it
Download SeamRipper-2.0.zip, extract it anywhere and run SeamRipper.exe. No Python needed.
You can also run the pre-made EXE.
Seam Ripper is only ever released here, on this GitHub page, and on my Docs site.
Latest EXE has been replaced in order to make patches for HUD modification and pre-order bonuses. Check here: https://leonmustdie.github.io/seam-ripper/
Seam Ripper v1.0.1
A new pre-made EXE, now made to fit with the new update.
Thanks LilLimpy for creating the update to fix lu_convert! They're the creator of the OG decomps.
For installation, just download the new ZIP. That's about it.
Seam Ripper v1.0.0
The first public build of Seam Ripper, pre-built for your convenience. Should work fine for the most part (unless I screwed something up, in that case, sorry in advance).
Now it actually works.
