RapidFireKeys v1.0.5
Fixed keys rapid-firing by themselves with nothing held.
RapidFireKeys decided whether a key was held by asking Windows, which also counts keys pressed by other software, such as automation tools pasting text with Ctrl+A / Ctrl+V. Windows could keep reporting those keys as held long afterwards, so switching to the game started rapid-firing them.
RapidFireKeys now watches your physical keyboard and mouse directly and ignores input sent by other software. A key only rapid-fires while you are actually holding it. Rapid-fire also stops as soon as you switch to a different window, including another instance of the same game.
A RapidFireKeys.log file is now written next to the exe. It records when each rapid-fire starts and stops, and any key it ignored because Windows reported it held while it wasn't physically pressed.
Upgrading: replace RapidFireKeys.exe with this one. Your CONFIG.json is kept.
RapidFireKeys v1.0.4
Fixed rapid-fire not working after the latest Diablo II Resurrected update. The game now checks key state once per frame, so presses that were sent and released instantly were being missed. Each rapid-fired press is now held briefly so the game sees it, while keeping the same repeat rate.
RapidFireKeys is now a single self-contained RapidFireKeys.exe, so nothing else needs to be installed. Put it in its own folder and run it. On first launch it creates a CONFIG.json next to the exe with the default Diablo II Resurrected key setup.
Upgrading from v1.0.3: replace your old RapidFireKeys.exe with this one. Your existing CONFIG.json is kept, and the old RapidFireKeys.dll, RapidFireKeys.runtimeconfig.json and rapidfire-icon.ico are no longer needed.
RapidFireKeys v1.0.3
Added an application manifest so RapidFireKeys now always launches with administrator privileges. Windows will show a UAC prompt on launch, and you no longer need to right-click and pick "Run as administrator".
This is required for the rapid-fired keys to reach applications that are themselves running elevated, since Windows blocks synthesized input from a normal process to an elevated one.
RapidFireKeys v1.0.2
Updated the key sending functions to send directly to the foreground window. This should hopefully fix a bug where occasionally a mouse key release wouldn't be detected properly.
RapidFireKeys v1.0.1
- Fixed (untested) support for mouse XButton1 and XButton2
- Fixed a possible minor CPU utilization issue when not holding modifier keys for presses of buttons that have modifier keys
RapidFireKeys v1.0.0
First release of RapidFireKeys. CONFIG.json is set up to be working for D2R.exe (Diablo II Resurrected)
