v4.1.1
SoundBar v4.1.1
A small hotfix that makes light mode easier to read, makes the Hide App button clearer, and lets the Mobile Companion work on public networks again with a warning first.
Light mode fixes
- App volume percentages are readable again. In light mode the volume % next to each app could be almost invisible. It now shows up properly in both light and dark mode, including when you switch themes while SoundBar is open.
- The microphone button is visible again. In light mode the mic icon only showed up when muted (in red). It now shows up when it's live too.
- The Update Available button is easier to read on light backgrounds.
New Hide App icon
- The button next to each app is now an eye instead of a bin. It only ever hid the app from the mixer and never deleted anything, so the icon now says that. You can bring hidden apps back from Settings > Hidden Apps.
Mobile Companion on public networks
- The companion works on public networks again. In v4.1.0 it was blocked on any network Windows has set to Public, so it quietly didn't work on those networks.
- You'll now get a warning first. If you turn the server on while connected to a public network (like café, hotel or airport Wi-Fi), SoundBar warns you that the connection may not be secure. Anyone else on that network could try to connect. You can cancel, or choose Turn On Anyway if you trust the network.
- On your home network? If Windows has it set to Public by mistake, you can change it to Private in Windows Settings > Network & internet and the warning won't appear.
Note for v4.1.0 users: The first time you turn the companion server on after updating, Windows will ask for admin permission once. This updates the firewall rule so it works on all network types.
Note for v4.0.3 users: You may have missed v4.1.0 as issues surrounding it let to it being pulled but all the new features are included in this version such as "Clickable version number" and "App opacity slider"
