On the phone: one song whose split failed no longer locks the Split button on every other song, and deleting a song takes its unfinished split with it. When a song's file can't be read, the phone now says the file is the problem instead of blaming itself. On the computer, Check & align no longer drags a whole stretch of lines seconds off when it loses its place, and from now on it remembers the timing it started from, so running it again starts fresh instead of repeating its own mistakes.

iPhone and Android:

  • One stubborn song no longer holds every other song's Split
    hostage.
When a split failed, the Split button on every other song
went grey and stayed grey until you found the failed card at the top of
the list and pressed Resume or Discard — which, from the song you actually
wanted to split, looked exactly like a button that does nothing. A failed
split no longer holds up the others: split another song and SingZ tells
you the failed one will be discarded, then gets on with it. (One
exception on iPhone: a split that got stuck keeps the phone busy until
SingZ is closed and opened again, and the app says so.) Deleting a song
now takes its unfinished split with it, too, instead of leaving a card
behind for a song that isn't there any more.

  • The failure card blames the right thing. When a song's file can't
be read, the card says so and suggests another copy of it, instead of
announcing that the song "keeps failing on this phone" and sending you
off to a computer. When it really is the phone, it still says that.

iPhone:

  • MP3s that end in a bit of padding split now. Some MP3s end in a run
of filler bytes, and the iPhone's own reader gave up 66 milliseconds
before the end of those — three tries, three "Decode failed", for a
file every other player opens fine. Those last milliseconds were
silence. The split now treats that as the end of the song, which is
    what it was.

Mac and Windows:

  • Check & align no longer drags a stretch of lines off when it loses
    its place.
When the precise aligner lost the phrase it was following,
it could slide every line after it along until it found its footing
again — a chorus sitting under the verse before it, a count-in ticking
down for 17 seconds over a voice that had been singing all along. It
now spots the stretch it lost and times those lines from their
    neighbours instead.

  • Running Check & align again starts fresh instead of copying its
    own mistakes.
A re-align used to start from the last alignment's
timing, mistakes included — so a line it had placed wrong came back in
exactly the same wrong place, however many times you asked. Every
alignment from this version on remembers the timing it started from,
and asking again goes back to that. Songs aligned by an older version
have nothing to go back to yet, so they still start from where they
    are.
