  • 487e5dc 0.3.1: the CLI tells the truth — help, signals, on/off honesty, publish gate
  • 19bac5d readme: fix images for npm, quickstart uses slink, always-on is optional
  • 922ffa1 prune: delete the JS CLI — Go owns it now (~6.7k lines)

v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lftherios lftherios released this 19 Jul 11:31

slink v0.3.0 — the Go rewrite

The slink CLI and always-on tap are now a single native Go binary. Same commands, same session/v0 format, same server — much lighter:

  • Idle memory 69MB → 8.9MB; binary 61MB → ~7MB (5MB compressed download)
  • No Node runtime to install for brew/curl; the SQLite importers no longer need Node ≥ 22
  • New channels: .deb / .rpm / .apk, plus a Homebrew cask

Install

brew install lftherios/tap/slink
curl -fsSL https://session.link/install.sh | sh
npm i -g session.link            # or npx session.link — same native binary

⚠️ Upgrading from a pre-0.3.0 Homebrew install

Earlier versions shipped as a Homebrew formula; v0.3.0 is a cask. If you installed before, switch once:

brew uninstall --formula slink
brew install --cask lftherios/tap/slink

Fresh brew install lftherios/tap/slink gets the cask directly — no action needed.
