Cannot create branch

I opened up a new repository.
There are 0 branches in it so 0 files.
When I try to open a new branch in it in order to get a pull it gives me the following error.

Thanks for the report - I suspect that there's an issue here changing branches when you don't yet have any commits on the branch you're on. (ie, you're on the master branch but it has "yet to be born").
