as the Travis results show, only some Scala versions work on JDK 10, so this needs some further refinement in order to skip some entries in the matrix

The error that is in the 2.12.0 + java 10 build seems like a problem that since have been fixed. So it is safe to remove 2.12.0 + java 10 from the matrix as well.

And the 2.13.0-M4 failure looks like implicits from scalatest are not applied...

I guess JDK 10 can be skipped now that 11 is final.
