v1.7.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 11 Oct 19:55

Supports Pokemon Snap apworld 0.8.0. Older apworlds (0.4.0 and up) still work.

If you play 0.8.0, update to this

0.8.0's default settings name some items differently, and earlier versions of the pack
didn't recognise them. On a default 0.8.0 seed, 1.6.0.3 and older:

  • never count Pokemon pictures. The Album counter stays at 0, because pictures arrive
    as a plain Pokemon Picture instead of Pokemon Picture: Pikachu
  • never register sign pictures, so the default six-sign goal never unlocks and Mew
    never comes into logic
  • never light the Apple, which 0.8.0 calls Apples by default, so every Apple-gated
    check stays out of logic

All three are fixed.

New in 0.8.0, now tracked

  • Generic picture names — plain Pokemon Picture and Sign Picture items are counted.
    A generic sign doesn't say which sign it is, so the six sign icons fill in order as a
    count; with specific names they still show exactly which signs you hold
  • The goal counts every picture, as Archipelago does, including the extras that
    extra_sign_pictures and extra_pokemon_pictures add
  • Mew: Good Technique is a new check, and good_technique_mew_photo can make it the
    winning photo
  • Per-course unlocks — with per_course_items, each course's checks use that course's
    Apple, Pester Balls or PokeFlute. The tool icons show how many courses you have each in,
    e.g. 3/7
  • Hard logic — about a dozen checks come into logic earlier, some with less film
  • Your Seed panel — new plates for per-course unlocks, hard logic and the Mew goal

Under the hood

Every access rule is now generated directly from the apworld's own rule table, rather than
written by hand. They were checked against Archipelago's logic under 12 option combinations,
and in over 300,000 randomised item and option states, with no disagreements.

v1.6.0.3

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 13 Sep 19:26

A cosmetic follow-up to 1.6.0.2. No logic changes, so nothing about which checks are in
logic moves.

Oak's Lab map is larger

Prof. Oak's Check and the Mew scene sit side by side, and the picture has been narrowed so
it draws taller in the same space — about a quarter taller than 1.6.0.2, with much less
black around it. The Mew panel is trimmed to centre on the rainbow ring; no artwork was
scaled, only cropped and rearranged.

Items panel tidied

Pokemon Pics, Film and the three photo-scoring icons now sit together above the six sign
pictures, with the scoring icons in their own column lined up against the item opposite
them.

v1.6.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 13 Sep 19:09

Same requirements as 1.6.0.x: apworld 0.7.0 for the newer options, older apworlds still work.

Oak's rewards are in logic properly

The six Oak rewards — the three report scores and the three photo counts — had no logic at
all and showed as available from the moment the tracker opened, including "130,000 Report
Score" on a fresh file.

They now light up only when they are actually reachable, mirroring the apworld: the photo
checks count how many Pokemon you can currently reach, and the score checks run the same
per-species estimate Archipelago uses, taking a Pokemon's best course and ignoring rng/hard
bonus photos exactly as it does.

On most seeds "6 Pokemon Photographed" is still lit from the start — one course usually has
enough Pokemon in it. Start on Volcano and it isn't, which is correct.

New "Your Seed" panel

The Settings popup has a second group listing what your yaml actually rolled: photo bonuses,
poses, signs, secret exits, the report checks, rng and hard checks, photo scoring, map
fragments, goal requirement and film. Lit means enabled, dimmed means disabled, and each
plate spells the setting out in its tooltip.

Film capacity states your starting amount

The counter reads "15" on a fresh seed and "15→25" once upgrades arrive, so the number your
yaml rolled stays visible instead of disappearing behind the running total. It matters:
starting film decides whether 13 checks are in logic at all.

Oak's Lab map is larger

Prof. Oak's Check and the Mew scene now sit side by side rather than stacked. The panel they
live in is wide and short, so the tall arrangement could never draw at a useful size. Same
artwork, no upscaling — about twice as wide.

Also

  • Fixed an invalid dock value in the settings layout that had been there since the Manual-era
    pack. No visible change; all four layouts now validate against PopTracker's schemas.

Install

Drop the zip into your PopTracker packs folder. No need to unzip.

v1.6.0.1

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 13 Sep 14:37

Follow-up to v1.6.0.0, which added apworld 0.7.0 support. Same requirements: 0.7.0 for the
new options, older apworlds still work.

Map fragments are now visible

With map_fragments at 2 or more, the course nameplate fills left to right as the fragments
arrive — divided into as many segments as your seed requires, with tick marks on the
divisions and the count (3/5) alongside, so how many you hold and how many remain are both
readable at a glance.

Nothing is drawn differently at the default map_fragments: 1.

Multiple PKMN Scoring has its own icon

1.6.0.0 pointed it at a leftover image that literally read "HARD", which looked like a
difficulty setting rather than a scoring unlock. It now pairs with the Good Technique
"Wonderful!" plate.

The Settings panel's Multiple Pokemon Pictures toggle used the same image and is fixed too —
that one had been wrong since well before 1.6.0.0.

Layout

Prof. Oak's Check and Mew sit directly under their header instead of at the bottom of the
column, and the black gap that separated them from it is gone.

Install

Drop the zip into your PopTracker packs folder. No need to unzip.

v1.6.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 06 Sep 18:58

Requires apworld 0.7.0 for the new options below. Older apworlds still work — 0.6.0 and
earlier simply don't send these settings, and the tracker falls back to the old behaviour.

Locations are unchanged in 0.7.0, so every check tracks exactly as before. What's new is
that a check's logic can now depend on your yaml, in three ways.

Photo scoring

photo_scoring can put the score bonuses behind items, and those are now tracked and shown
in the item grid:

  • progressive_unlocks — the first Progressive Scoring unlocks Good Technique, the second
    unlocks Multiple PKMN
  • separate_unlocks — Good Technique Scoring and Multiple PKMN Scoring unlock separately

Until you have the matching unlock, those checks stay out of logic instead of showing as
available from the start.

separate and separate_unlocks also drop the requirement to earn Good Technique before
Multiple. Seven Multiple checks are cheaper as a result, and now show that way.

Film capacity

Thirteen checks now require a minimum film capacity. The displayed Film Capacity is derived
from your yaml — starting_film, film_upgrade_amount and maximum_film — instead of
assuming the defaults, so a low-film seed reads correctly.

At the default starting_film of 15 nothing changes; the film requirements only bite below 9.

Map fragments

With map_fragments at 2 or more, the plain course item never appears — you collect that
many <Course>: Map Fragment items instead. Courses now unlock from either path.

Without this a fragment seed would have shown every course locked for the entire run, with
every check in it out of logic.

Install

Drop the zip into your PopTracker packs folder. No need to unzip.

v1.5.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 16 Aug 20:19
  • Mew and Poliwag now match the apworld's logic — both are in-logic with Pokemon Food or the Pester Ball
  • Sandshrew's picture no longer shows as reachable with only the Dash Engine
  • The Normal Pictures toggle icon now loads
  • Supports apworld 0.6.0: the six Oak reward checks, and the configurable Rainbow Cloud goal

v1.4.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 14 Aug 17:38

Fixes checks appearing that your yaml excluded — including Zubat (Cave): Multiple with hard_checks off. Also fixes the Pokedex showing every Pokemon greyed, and makes unchecked sign pictures darker so received ones stand out. Requires apworld 0.5.x.

v1.4.0.1 (superseded test build)

Pre-release

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 09 Aug 17:35

Warning

Superseded by v1.5.0.0 — do not install this build.

It targets apworld 0.5.x and does not support 0.6.0. It also carries three
access-rule bugs fixed in 1.5.0.0: Mew and Poliwag show as out of logic when
you hold the Pokemon Food, and Sandshrew shows as reachable with only the
Dash Engine. Kept for reference only.

Test build. Existing users are not offered this automatically — grab the zip below to try it.

Requires apworld 0.5.x (tested against 0.5.3).

Since the 1.4.0.0 test build

  • Checks complete properly. Bonus locations in 0.5.x are random filler slots, not a duplicate of every check, so a check now completes on whichever of the pair arrives. Previously every check stuck at 1 and the ball never opened
  • Pokemon in locked courses no longer show blue. Four multi-course Pokemon were marked reachable-but-not-collectible in courses you had not unlocked
  • Clicking a course icon works whether it is unlocked or not — it previously needed a right-click on unlocked courses
  • Good Technique and Multiple checks can be hidden, to match the photo_bonuses yaml option. There is now a Multiple toggle alongside the existing two
  • Removed the last leftovers from the old Manual tracker

Carried over from 1.4.0.0

  • The map follows you between courses in game — this needs apworld 0.5.3, which is the release that started sending it
  • Pokedex tab showing which of the 63 Pokemon you have photographed
  • Sign pictures tracked individually, so you can see which to hint for
  • Pokeball icons for check state

Install

Drop the zip into your PopTracker packs folder. No need to unzip.

Feedback wanted

Whether the map follows you between courses now that 0.5.3 sends it, whether the Pokedex fills in correctly, and whether the course icons dim and undim properly as courses arrive.

v1.4.0.0 (superseded test build)

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 06 Aug 19:24

Warning

Superseded by v1.5.0.0 — do not install this build.

Checks never complete in this build: it assumed every location had a bonus
twin, so each check stuck at 1 and the Pokeball never opened. That was
fixed in 1.4.0.1. It also targets apworld 0.5.x and does not support 0.6.0.
Kept for reference only.

Test build — not yet the recommended release. Existing users are not offered this automatically; grab the zip below to try it.

Requires apworld 0.5.x (tested against 0.5.2). All 400 locations track, so on apworld 0.4.0 no check will ever complete — stay on 1.3.0.2 if you are on 0.4.0.

What's new

  • The map follows you automatically as you move between courses, thanks to @nielrenned
  • New Pokedex tab showing which of the 63 Pokemon you have photographed
  • Sign pictures tracked individually, so you can see which to hint for
  • Clicking a course item opens its map (those items can no longer be toggled by hand)
  • Pokeball icons for check state: closed while outstanding, open once submitted
  • Each check covers two Archipelago locations under 0.5.x, shown as a count of 2

Install

Drop the zip into your PopTracker packs folder. No need to unzip.

Feedback wanted

Whether the Pokedex fills in correctly, whether the '2' badges count down as expected, and whether the automatic map switching behaves when you also click a course icon.

v1.3.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@lighting8282 lighting8282 released this 31 Jul 16:05
  • Re-added Pokémon sprites and prof oak icon for checks
  • Removed HardCheck flag from Manual world. This unhid 5 multiple checks. This now appear in the proper place on the pop tracker
  • All checks should now be visible before connecting to an AP room.
