Lightmorphic Flow 0.6.8
Pre-release
Pre-release
Beta. This explains the flashing icon, and it was never a crash.
What was actually happening
Removing the package from one machine took its settings with it, so when it was reinstalled it built itself a fresh certificate. The other machine still trusted the old one, refused the connection, said nothing about it, and retried every three seconds — for ever.
Each of those refused attempts made the other computer's tray rebuild its menu. The menu is a window, so the dock flashed an icon on and off, endlessly. That was the flashing: not a crash loop, a laptop knocking on a door it no longer recognised.
Fixed
- A changed identity is now said out loud, in the settings window, with a Trust it again button. It no longer fails silently.
- The tray rebuilds its menu only when something it actually shows has changed, so nothing churns in the dock.
Includes 0.6.7, which fixes finding computers on a home network that is not the usual size, and makes an upgrade restart what is already running.
Installing
sudo apt install ./lightmorphic-flow_0.6.8_all.deb
