Show bookings on map

Currently Trains and flights do not show up on the map, they also only have a single "Location/Address" (flights have a from and to field for airport codes, but that doesn't seem to change anything).

It would be neat if all transport options (Train, Flight, Ferry, etc.) would have a Start and Destination field and showed up as a simple line on the map.

Thanks for the idea, but this is not something we're planning to add. Transport bookings are designed purely for organizational purposes — keeping track of confirmation numbers, times, and details. They're not meant to represent geographic data on the map, and adding routes for every flight/train would clutter the map rather than improve it.

fair enough. I was more considering it as an easy way to identify missing links during the planing stage of a longer trip (i.e. see gaps between cities). Maybe even just as an overlay that is off by default. But I can also live with out it :)

One thing I do hope I can change your mind on is the start and destination of a transport booking. Since the bookings already show up in the itinerary when in the map view, it would be very nice to visually see where the relevant train station or (air)port is on the map.

Let me know if this is better in a new feature request :)

Changed my mind on this one — shipping it via #706.

• Flight, train, cruise and car bookings now have real start + destination fields (no longer just a single "Location/Address"). Flights use airport search (OurAirports), the rest use Nominatim
• They show up on the map as a simple line between the two endpoints — geodesic arc for flights / cruises, straight dashed line for trains / cars — with endpoint markers that open the existing transport detail popup on click
• To your original "should maybe be off by default" point: it is — the toggle lives per-reservation in the day-plan sidebar (Route icon next to the booking) and is persisted per trip, so the map stays clean unless you opt a specific connection in
• Extra setting under Display → Booking route labels lets you reduce the endpoint markers to just the icon (no station / airport name), for even less visual noise
