Restyle 2.0

The biggest update yet: desktop widgets, liquid glass looks, a themed Start menu, lock screen pictures and
widgets, a redesigned dock and a reorganized app. Everything is still per-user, needs no admin rights, never
touches Windows system files, and can be undone.

New

• Desktop widgets: world clock map, big clock and date, weather, analog clock, app shortcuts, volume and
  brightness sliders, now playing (with play/pause/skip) and a calendar with a note. Three layouts: Tiles,
  Glass clock and Corners.
• Edit widgets anywhere: right-click the dock or a widget and choose Edit widgets. Drag, resize, hide or
  add any widget. Each layout remembers its own arrangement.
• Liquid glass: frosted glass panels for the widgets and the dock, drawn from a pre-blurred copy of your
  wallpaper so they cost nothing per frame.
• Four new presets: Widgets Desktop, Night Sky Glass, Moonlit and Liquid Glass, with four new built-in
  wallpapers (13 in total).
• Restyle Start menu: a centered Start menu that follows your theme, with search and pinned apps. It opens
  instantly and loads app icons in the background.
• Lock screen: every built-in wallpaper has a matching lock screen picture, and you can add widgets (clock,
  weather and more) to the lock screen.
• Dock styles and positions: Mac, Liquid glass, Transparent, Bar and Minimal pill, on the bottom, left or
  right edge. App icons are now sharp at every size and while magnified.
• Weather and news (optional, off by default): weather from Open-Meteo for a city you choose, and
  headlines from any RSS/Atom feed. These are the only features that use the internet.

Improved

• Reorganized app: Presets, Appearance, Taskbar & Start, Dock, Widgets, Backups and About. Every option is
  now on the page you'd expect, and related pages link to each other.
• Changes apply instantly: a running dock picks up settings changes right away, and updates itself when a
  newer Restyle.exe is installed (a Restart now banner appears in the settings window).
• Full-screen apps: hiding the Windows taskbar no longer leaves a gap at the bottom of maximized windows
  (for example Microsoft Edge).
• Errors are logged to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Restyle\error.log (on your PC only) instead of failing silently.
• Microsoft Store edition: the source now includes an MSIX packaging project for the Store.

Fixed

• Switching away from the Moonlit preset could fail.
• "Cannot set Visibility... after a Window has closed" error after restarting for an update.
• The Start menu was slow to open and to type in.
• The Start menu didn't always open in the center of the screen.

Download

Download Restyle-win-x64.zip, unzip it anywhere and run Restyle.exe. Nothing to install; works on 64-bit
Windows 10 (1903+) and Windows 11. If you're updating, replace your old Restyle.exe (and Presets folder) with
the new ones. Your settings, backups and undo history are kept.

Windows SmartScreen may warn that the app is from an unknown publisher, because the download isn't
code-signed. Click More info → Run anyway.

Restyle 1.0

First release. Download Restyle-win-x64.zip, unzip it and run Restyle.exe. No install needed. Works on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).
