Create static builds.

Was using linuxdeploy-static and did not know it was failing on the plugin.

Create a static build like linuxdeploy.

I don't know what happened to the link, i was trying to reference my branch which replicated what you had done on linux deploy to create linuxdeploy-static builds as experimental.
I was building on Alpine Linux with musl-gcc and linuxdeploy was failing to pull-in the qt plugin.

The only hint was:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error'
  what():  subprocess /usr/bin/linuxdeploy-plugin-qt --plugin-api-version failed with exit code 127

Is it the plugin binary itself that causes problems? Or some tool we bundle?

The plugin binary. once I built it with the code from linuxdeploy, everything succeeded (also using linuxdeploy-static).

Since you seem to have got it to work, would you send a pull request, please? It's probably a good idea to build the plugin statically, too.
