@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 18:51

The first public release of Linx: a complete phone system for a home or small office, on a server you own.

Calls

  • Extensions for everyone, ring groups that ring a team all at once or in turn, and office hours with holidays.
  • Incoming numbers set up with a short wizard: who rings, what happens if nobody answers, and what callers get when you're closed.
  • Voicemail in the web app, and from a desk phone by dialling *97, with the message-waiting light on desk phones.
  • Call history for everyone, with missed calls first and one tap to ring back.
  • Calls in the browser: a phone in the web app, with presence so you can see who's free.
  • Desk phones and softphones sign in over an encrypted connection.

Phone lines and countries

  • Bring your own phone line provider, or connect the office phone system or gateway you already have.
  • Any country: Linx reads numbers the way they're dialled where you are, and its emergency numbers always work.
  • What phones can call: local, mobile, free, abroad and premium-rate numbers, each on or off. Calls abroad can go everywhere or only to the countries you choose.
  • Alerts for every emergency call, the first call to a new country, and unusual calling abroad.

Safe by default

  • Passkeys or an authenticator app for signing in, and company sign-in (Google, Microsoft and others).
  • Sensitive changes ask you to confirm it's you, and every change to where calls go can be undone.
  • Calls are encrypted; nothing is sent in the clear.

Running it

  • One command installs Linx on a Linux server (Intel/AMD or ARM), then you finish in your browser.
  • Certificates are obtained and renewed for you; backups and restore are built in.
  • Help is built in and searchable, and the same guides are on linxpbx.com.
  • Runs on a small server: 1 core and 1–2 GB of memory.

Coming soon

  • The iPhone and iPad app on the App Store.
  • Video meetings with guest links.
