Codeck v0.6 polishes the editing workspace: the Markdown source editor now highlights syntax in place, the Deck Assistant gets sharper whole-deck context, and the app surface has a more unified visual rhythm across editor, preview, and assistant panels.

What's New

• Markdown editor syntax highlighting: headings, links, emphasis, code, lists, blockquotes, and supported fenced-code languages are styled directly in the source editor.
• Improved whole-deck assistant prompts: deck-scope assistant runs now prioritize the full presentation instead of over-weighting the currently selected slide.
• More reliable Codex runner path resolution: Codeck now checks common install locations when resolving the Codex executable, reducing launch issues when the CLI is not on the default app PATH.
• Unified app surface palette: editor, preview, sidebar, and assistant surfaces now share a calmer dark palette for a more cohesive workspace.
• Cleaner editor chrome: custom material backgrounds were removed from the editor area so the writing surface feels quieter and more direct.
• Centered Deck Assistant empty state: the assistant panel now has a more balanced empty state before a run begins.

• The app and CLI are ad-hoc signed but not notarized, so macOS may show an unidentified-developer prompt on first launch.
• Codeck-v0.6-macos-universal.zip.sha256 contains the SHA-256 checksum.

Requirements

• macOS 14 or later.
• Codex CLI on PATH with an active login for live Codex sessions.

Validation

• Built from commit c2ea4ca with universal arm64 and x86_64 binaries.
• swift test passed on May 30, 2026: 152 tests, 0 failures.
• codesign --verify --deep --strict passed for Codeck.app.
• The release zip was extracted and the extracted Codeck.app and codeck-mcp passed signature verification.
