v2.0.1 — Filename date fallback

Choose a tag to compare

@llavaud llavaud released this 19 May 22:02
686863e

First feature release after the Python rewrite (2.0.0).

Highlights

  • Filename date fallback: when EXIF metadata is missing, the
    capture date is now inferred from the file name itself
    (Samsung YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS, iPhone IMG_…,
    Screenshot_YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS, WhatsApp IMG-YYYYMMDD-…, and
    ISO-like patterns).
  • Transparent naming: every file logs how its name was resolved
    (debug for EXIF, info for filename parsing, warning for the
    stem-only fallback), so it is always obvious why a given file kept
    its original name.
  • .png accepted as a photo input (normalised to .jpg on output).
  • make deb-lint runs lintian --profile debian on the most
    recent .changes; the debian/changelog distribution was switched
    from stable to unstable so the package is lintian-clean.
