Missing temperature-sensor readings for Asus ROG STRIX B850-F GAMING WIFI with Nuvoton NCT6701D-R #544

I have an Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI motherboard with the Nuvoton NCT6701D-R Super I/O chip.

  • sensors-detect identifies the chip as an unknown chip.
  • Using the nct6775 driver (which detects the chip as nct6799) allows the fans and voltages to be read correctly.
  • However, most of the temperature readings are not meaningful (either +0.0°C or unrealistically low values), and some sensors are missing.
  • The TSI0_TEMP reading seems to work and shows the same values as k10temp (the CPU temperature).
  • Crucially, there are no sensors shown for the external temperature probe and for the VRM temperature, which are the values I need.

For reference, HW-info in Windows shows these sensors correctly on the board (the external T-sensor is only visible when it is connected). I have attached a CSV export with the sensor details from the board. Although I don't understand much of it, it might be helpful.

Is it possible to add support for this board and/or chip? I am unsure if this is the right place to ask for this. If not, please point me in the right direction.
