Updates that feel automatic. This release completes the in-app updater's verified in-place install path:

• Update in place — on macOS the app unpacks the signature-verified .app.tar.gz and swaps the running bundle, then relaunches (no dmg drag); Windows/Linux hand the verified installer to NSIS / the AppImage.
• Re-checks on focus — a release that shipped while the app sat in the tray now surfaces when you return to it, not only on the periodic check.
• One click: "Update & relaunch" — your settings, files, and local model are kept.
• Per-platform honesty — the Windows installer shows its normal UI (no silent install); a Debian .deb-only release stays notify-only.

Update verification is armed but inert until signing keys are provisioned: unsigned builds remain notify-only (the button reads "Get it" and opens this releases page), and nothing is ever downloaded-and-run without a verified signature.

Desktop installers for Windows, macOS, and Linux are attached below.

Reports: start from any spreadsheet in your vault

The New report button used to grey out whenever none of your spreadsheets were currently visible to the AI — so a vault full of data could leave the Reports library with nowhere to begin. Now it builds from any spreadsheet you have.

• Pick any spreadsheet — visible to the AI or not. If the one you choose isn't visible yet, generating the report makes it visible (and keeps it), then runs the same deep analysis, with every figure computed by the engine.
• Honest about empty hands — a spreadsheet with no date + number column to chart gets a plain “nothing to analyze yet” note instead of a hollow, empty report.
• Told up front — the composer says clearly when generating will make a hidden spreadsheet visible to the AI.

Deterministic analytics and privacy behavior are unchanged. No telemetry.

Answers that read like answers — with numbers you can trust

When you ask about your data, Lighthouse now writes a real, flowing answer in the model's own words, and every figure in it is still computed by the engine — never guessed. The exact numbers sit just beneath the prose as a "Computed exactly by Lighthouse" disclosure you can expand.

• Breathing room for the write-up — instead of dropping a raw profile on you, the model narrates over a verified fact sheet. If it ever states a number the engine didn't compute, Lighthouse tightens the instruction and retries, and only falls back to a plain exact reply as a last resort — never a fabricated figure.
• Only when it fits — the narrated answer appears when your question actually maps to something your data carries; otherwise Lighthouse says plainly what the table holds and what it can't answer, rather than dressing an unrelated number as the answer.
• Reports keep their footing on mobile — a report generated right after the app wakes on iPhone or iPad now reliably runs the on-device model instead of degrading to bare framing.

In an investigation, two new buttons — Scientific report and Business report — ask for your working hypothesis, then write up a full deep analysis framed around it. Every figure is still computed by the engine; the hypothesis only shapes the narrative, never the numbers.

On iPhone and iPad, opening the keyboard to ask a follow-up used to push the answer you were reading up under the keyboard. Now the last answer's tail and the text box are brought into view together the moment the keyboard opens — you can see what you're replying to and what you're typing, at once.

Every number you see is one Lighthouse computed

When you ask about a data file, any figure in the answer is now guaranteed to have been computed by the engine — never guessed by the on-device model. If a number can't be grounded in an exact computation, Lighthouse shows you the verified profile of your data instead of prose that might contain an unchecked figure.

• Stronger on-device question-to-SQL — more worked examples, richer hints about your data's shape, and an extra retry, so more questions get an exact, computed answer without leaving your device.
• An exact profile, on demand — row counts and per-column facts, labeled "Computed exactly by Lighthouse," are now a first-class answer in their own right.
• A numeric guard closes a quiet gap where a retrieval-based answer could surface a number the engine never checked. If the numbers aren't backed by a computation, the answer doesn't claim them.
• See how a number was found — the computation's provenance shows by default on iPhone, iPad, and desktop.

Deterministic analytics are unchanged, and cloud model tiers keep their existing behavior. No telemetry.

A cleaner feel on iPhone and iPad

• The Ask button never gets crowded — a long draft shrinks the text box, not the button.
• Switching tabs is smoother — the page you're leaving stays put underneath the one sliding in, and closing a page slides it away instead of blinking out.
• Swipe down to dismiss — Preferences and the other pop-up panels now close with a downward swipe; a swipe in the middle of a long panel just scrolls, as you'd expect.
• The version number moved — off the corner (where it overlapped the tab bar) and onto the Settings page under Help & about.
• Fewer desktop-only options on iPhone — the window/widget, tray, and keyboard-shortcut settings that only apply to the computer app no longer show on mobile.

A private model for more iPhones

• iPhones and iPads without Apple Intelligence can now run a private model on-device — a small (~1.1 GB) model you download once, with your consent, that answers entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your phone.
• Downloaded only when you choose — wifi by default, never bundled into the app, and the download is the only network touch. Devices that can't hold it say so honestly instead of offering a dead end.
• Same private answers, more devices — iPhones with Apple Intelligence are unchanged (they already had the on-device model); this brings a private option to the phones that didn't.
• Desktop unchanged — nothing changes on macOS, Windows, or Linux.

Your files, and only your files

• On iPhone and iPad, the app's working data moves out of Documents — the engine's state file, search index, and extraction cache now live in the app's private Application Support area, so the Files app shows only your actual documents. Your files themselves don't move.
• The move is lossless and careful — a one-time migration copies everything durably, resolves iCloud sync-conflict duplicates by keeping the newest version (the others are preserved, not deleted), and if anything at all goes wrong the app simply keeps running from the old location — never lost data, never a refused launch.
• Leaner backups — the regenerable extraction cache is excluded from iCloud/device backups; your state and index stay backed up.
• Desktop unchanged — nothing changes on macOS, Windows, or Linux in this release.
