Segtone is an iPhone and iPad media player prepared for the iPhone Duo workshop. It manages audio and video files you select on your device and uses Apple's media frameworks for supported formats. The app does not require its own account.
Imported files are copied into the app's storage. Track information, including titles, artists, albums, lyrics, and artwork, and your playlists are stored in a local library. Editing information or embedded tags in supported formats affects the copy managed by the app.
Display and audio preferences, equalizer settings and saved presets, and loudness measurements are also stored locally. The app may store music analysis results and temporary export files. These data support library browsing, playback, editing, analysis, and export.
The app does not upload your media, library, or settings to a developer server. It does not include advertising, usage tracking, or advertising identifier collection features.
Music analysis uses Apple's Music Understanding on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 or later. Audio is analyzed on your device, and results are stored locally. The app does not send audio to the developer for analysis. Apple's description of Music Understanding
When you choose an external destination or app for export or sharing, the selected files are passed to that destination or app. File providers, cloud storage, device backups, OS diagnostics, and external websites handle data under Apple's or the chosen service's settings and policies.
Delete from Library removes the local track information, artwork, and managed media copy. It leaves the original import source and files already exported elsewhere. Deleting a playlist or removing a track from a playlist does not delete library media.
Settings, music analysis caches, and loudness measurements may remain after deleting a track. The app has no control to clear all settings and caches. To remove all local app data on iPhone or iPad, use the OS Delete App action. Offload App preserves app data.
When you use a beta through TestFlight, Apple collects crash logs and usage information and shares them with the developer. This may also include submitted feedback, comments, screenshots, and your name or email address depending on how you were invited. The developer uses this information to investigate and fix issues and respond to inquiries, and does not sell it or share it with third parties. Copies separately retained by the developer are kept only as long as needed for these purposes and deleted when no longer needed. For Apple's retention and controls, see TestFlight & Privacy.
For privacy questions or requests to delete feedback retained by the developer, use Send Beta Feedback in TestFlight. You can also contact the project through GitHub Issues. Issues are public; do not post personal information or private media there.
